2 Ok, this questions must be asked ASAP. After watching the new video with the helmet cam, can we as a host, force a specific camera mode on everyone in the room? This is MUST! option with this new helmet camera. It actually looks playable on that mode. Loving what I'm seeing so far.
The helmet cam is playable, along with the usual cockpit cam. We chose not to make rooms locked with this kind of options because we feel it’s a personal choice.. and you can always play in private rooms with friends with the same settings!
3 Can I start an online lobby and race alone or against AI? Can I pick and choose and force options? Can i KICK players? I must be lobby God..
You can’t play online alone, it would be weird! There’s a number of options that the Host can force, and a number that can be changed during the Lobby. And yes, the host can kick.
4 What information does the HUD provide to the player? (Besides the obvious speed, gear etc.)
- split times? Yes.
- fastest lap? (By player or by other player) Yes.
- damage? Yes.
- tyre wear? Yes.
- fallen rider notifications? Yes, the player is informed about all the race crashes
- gap behind / forward? Yes, the player is informed about his gap from the forward and behind rider at every split time.
- passes by other players? Yes, the game informs the player when a race overtake occurred.
- something else? Number of rewind shots available, full track map with opponents highlighted.
5 Can AI retire races in single player mode or will everyone finish a race regardless of crashing etc?
They might retire, for crashes or mechanical failure.
6 Is there a system to discourage people from leaving online races mid race?
After rammers, the thing I hate most is people dropping out of races as soon as they crash or realize that they are not fighting for podium finishes.
Yes there’s a score penalty for quitters.
7 Are/will the bikes sounds be recorded like early sbk games?
a sound meter stuck up its pipe on a rolling road?
Yes, all the bikes were recorded live in dedicated sessions, all MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 bikes are taken from real.
8 BobR6: Tyre wear.. Will we be able to ''kill'' the tyres by riding hard? And make them last by being smooth? Or will they just last a certain amount of laps no matter what we do?
Tyre wear has a complex algorithm that takes in account track and tyre temperature, and wear is due to rolling, skidding, etc, so some wear comes from your riding style. Traction control helps to reduce it, for instance.
9 Will there be constant ongoing updates/patches and support?
We’ll see. We’re working to have a game as much as bugfree as possible, but I can’t exclude a patch if any annoying issue pops up. We have a DLC plan, too.
Will there be an active website/forums for developers and players from the MotoGP 2013 gaming community to gather and have discussions about the game?
We strongly believe that every community has its own taste. For this reason we won’t create a unique community this year. We’d like to preserve the essence of each community. But we will organize Q&A session with developers on Facebook and usually we answer to our fans every day.
Now that gamespy seems to be obsolete, How will multiplayer accounts work?
We have changed our libraries, and we don’t use GameSpy anymore.
