Hello Hunters,
I'm going to release an english patch for Monster Hunter X to help all those who import their game from Japan without japanese knowledge to enjoy the game. The goal will not be to translate every NPC dialog, but most, if not all menus, skills, items, weapons and descriptions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5eAmAn ... e=youtu.beRead the whole post before doing anything!
Please be aware that this is very alpha, was not fully tested (except the NTR plugin) and was done in 24h.
Also i would be happy to see video's of the patch working (still have to wait for my cartridge to arrive).
There will be errors.
So please fill out this form when you find one:

NTR PLUGINHANS PATCHERInstructions:
There are far too many things to consider for deciding on how to patch (retail cartridge, eshop version, CFW, Homebrew, o3ds, n3ds, etc)
You should know yourself, which method you want to go for. I will not do techsupport for you. There are numerous clever people on the board who can probably help you, but you should start with reading tutorials yourself
NTR Plugin Method (NTR Plugin):
recommended, requires NTR CFW 3.1, n3ds and retail cartridge or cia
Copy the contents of the "NTR" folder (from NTR Plugin link) onto your SD Card. (There should be a folder called mhx at the root)
Launch NTR CFW (BootNTR or whatever Entrypoint you use).
Launch your game (retail or installed cia).
The screen should flash green and start the game patched.
HANS Method (HANS Patcher):
said to not work, have to wait for HANS update, requires a romfs.bin, a retail cartridge and n3ds with Homebrew (not menuhax).
Acquire a decrypted romfs.bin (e.g. extract from cia).
Put the "romfs.bin" (name has to match) next to "patch.bat" (from RomFS Patcher link) and
double click on "patch.bat".
The patcher should run and you should end up with "patched_romfs.bin".
Rename the patched_romfs.bin and put it on your SD card here: "/HANS/0004000000155400.romfs"
Copy the contents of the "3ds" folder (from RomFS Patcher link) onto you SD card in the 3ds folder.
Go into the Homebrew Launcher on your 3ds and start the entry called "MHX English Patch".
The game should start patched.
CIA Method (NTR Plugin):
requires a way to launch a cia and a decrypted cia
You have to look up the commands for extracting and building (if the guy comes back, i will test the commands and add them here)
Extract the romfs folder from the decrypted cia merge it with the "arc" folder (from NTR Plugin link). After that rebuild cia.
Follow this tutorial for that:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-ho ... ia.388677/Install cia on your 3ds and play the game.
Lazy Method:
requires pre-patched cia and a way to launch a cia
Acquire a pre-patched cia from a friend.
Install cia on your 3ds and play the game.
3DS Method:
I don't know how to build a 3ds file from cia. But what you basically have to do:
Create patched cia by using CIA method and create a 3ds from it.
Progress:
100% Skill Names
~80-90% Skill Descriptions
~55% Item Names & Descriptions
~7% Hunter Arts (will do more for next update)
~50% Armor Names & Descriptions
~38% Weapon Names & Descriptions
~98% Popup Messages in Quest
~85% Guildcard Titles
Many quest objectives
Some Menus
