VMU 2 PC and PC 2 VMU Tutorial

Introduction
This will show how to backup your VMU files to PC's hard disc
and get them back to the VMU. Some parts of this tut are based on Roamin64/ David Drolet tutorial.
Whats used :
-DC Planet Web Browser 2.0 or later (I tested this and it works. No idea about PD. Dreamkey 3.0 does NOT work!)
-vmucopy v0.1 or later (ask BlueCrab for a new version !) -

-Demomenu or DCHakker selfbooting CD -

-a blank CDR for your VMU saves
-an e-mail account (POP3 access )
What you will able to do :
Send 7 vmu files at once (in one email) to your PC then burn/load up to 19 vmu files on/from one cdr

How do you do it ?
Use the web browser to send an e-mail to yourself.
Click on "Attach", on the top of the screen.
Select "Add Attachement" and then the VMU.
Now, the first file you will select, will end up with a
corrupted filename once you sent it over e-mail. So, choose another one then
the one you want to copy. You can send 7 saves in one e-mail.
Choose some other file then the one you want to copy, It'll say
"Loading file from the VMU" and then the "add attachements" window is there,
with say, "CRAZYTAXI_DC" as the first selected attachement. Click add
attachement again , open the VMU, and now , choose the file you want to copy,
eg. DEADORALIVE2 . It loads it , then shows the attachement window again , with
DOA2 in second row. (Now , maybe (mostlikely) the first attachement you
selected will now have its filename corrupted, but its ok , you dont want that
one ..) Once you selected all the vmu
files, close the attachement window, then send !

Now use your PC to check your e-mail, you will have an e-mail from yourself, with attachements.
Download all the saved files, you should have
filenames as CRAZYTAXI_DC, DEADORALIVE2 etc.
Don't rename them! Otherwise your DC games will not recognize them!

Burning Vmucopy with your savegames to a CDR
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now extract the vmucopy archive to a folder of your choice( I'm using c:\vmucopy )
Create a subfolder called 'vmufiles' and copy your downloaded vmu saves to it. (in my case c:\vmucopy\vmufiles)
In Nero or the burning program of your choice create a new Multisession disc:
burn all files from c:\vmucopy to the root of your blank cdr so you have following structure:
[CDROM]
.\
1st_read.bin <== the BIN you have to start using Demomenu or DChakker
.\VMUFILES\ <== subfolder where you put your vmu saves to
CRAZYTAXI_DC <== Your VMU saves
DEADORALIVE2
..... <== you can't have more than 19 files on one cdr!!!
Ask BlueCrab to improve his program if you want to have more files.
Later you can add a new session to the cdr and delete/add new vmufiles if you want.

Uploading your savegames from CD 2 your VMU
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.Boot up your selfbooting Demomenu/DChakker disc.
2.Put your CDR with savegames in.
3.Click on Rescan in DChakker or press B in Demomenu to refresh the view
4.When the DC has recognized the new cdr, open the 1st_read.bin
5. now you can see your savegames. use UP/DOWN and A to upload them to the vmu
Overall :
-Send e-mail to yourself, add vmu files in attachement with the Planet Web Browser
-Receive the e-mails on your PC, download the vmu files
-burn your VMU cdr: put 1st_read.bin to [cdrom]:\1st_read.bin and your saves to [cdrom]:\vmufiles\
-Use demomenu to load vmucopy's 1st_read.bin
-upload your saves
