I’m using ‘announced’ in commas as it has not really been announced I have just stumbled across it on the interweb. They don’t appear to have announced the game it’s just arrived. Quietly.
Arena Morte is a third person fighting game set in a ’science fiction world’ in which combatants use a variety of weapons and martial arts to kick seven shades of poo out of each other. The game will also feature ‘an intuitive auto‐defense combat system
for parrying opponent’s attacks’ and RPG elements. Judging by the preview artwork it will also feature Janet Jackson style ‘wardrobe malfunctions’. The story
for the game is thus:
Technology and weapons development varied across civilizations, however nothing remained secret for long as virtually all civilizations were able to acquire these weapons of mass destruction. As a result, every potential military conflict could only end up in one way – complete genocide of all civilizations and races. Cultural differences and expanding greed for limited natural resources triggered several conflicts, and the civilized nations were preparing for all-out galactic war.
Fortunately the leaders realized the possible cataclysmic consequences of war, and agreed to resolve their conflicts in a more ‘civilized’ way – melee duels pitting their most skilled warriors against each other in a now modern day “Death Olympics”.
Centuries after the first fights took place, scientific research has enabled these peoples to genetically engineer their warriors. Humans, and other races can now be cloned so that even after death their memory, skills and consciousness can be transferred to the new better body.
This technology has ignited a new beginning of these deadly tournaments known as “Arena Morte”.
The games creators, Frontline Studios, will be teaming up with Polish animators ‘Dash Dot Creations’
for Arena Morte and will also be bringing the Dash Dot game ‘The Beaver Fever’ to consoles. If you think
for one second that I am going to Google that to find out what it is you are very much mistaken.
Arena Morte will be coming to Xbox and PS3 in the fall Autumn of 2010.
