While we’re getting a playable Amateratsu in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, it isn’t exactly what we’d call Okami HD. Luckily, Motohide Eshiro, producer of the upcoming DS title Okamiden, has said that we shouldn’t rule out the possibility of seeing one.
“As far as a HD version goes, I understand why Okami fans would want such a graphic improvement over the original,” Eshiro told Siliconera. “I wouldn’t rule anything out. After this game comes out, if the response is good and people still want an HD Okami it will be something I definitely consider.
“For now, I hope Okami fans and fans who want Okami HD will try out Okamiden and enjoy it for what it is, a portable Okami experience. Then maybe later down the line we can talk about something HD.”
Sounds like if you want to play Okami on your PlayStation 3s and Xbox 360s, you’ll all have to go out and buy Okamiden. So buy it. Even if you don’t own a DS.

So you have been wondering when exactly will the news about Irrational Games' next game will be made. Come on, we know you have had that piece of info shifting around in your mind. Well now the teaser site Whatisicarus.com has posted up more than its wired mix of a single moving shape and some smoke thingie in the background.
In short the web site now states a date which you can see above this post. It looks like at 1:45 pm Eastern time on August 12, we will get to see that CGI trailer that Irrational Games promised us we would see in its last podcast. Now a new mystery has popped up. Why reveal anything at 1:45 pm? While not noon or 5 or 8 pm? Does the time selected have some sort of significance? Stay tuned.
Ubisoft Toronto boss Jade Raymond has told Develop that the studio is to ramp up to five simultaneous AAA projects in the future.
Instead, for now, the newly-opened outfit is currently working on two major projects, one of which is known to be the next Splinter Cell, the team for which includes Conviction stalwarts Alex Parizeau, Maxime Béland and Patrick Redding.
“We want to grow to 800 staff in ten years, we’re on two major projects now,” said Raymond, “and eventually we’ll be working on five.”
She added: “I can’t say specifics now, we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves in our first year. But yeah, that’s the plan.”
Raymond’s said in the past the studio’s aim is to work on major AAA projects only.
EG’s just announced a batch of Bethesda games for October’s Eurogamer Expo.
Obsidian’s Fallout: New Vegas, Splash Damage’s Brink and inXile’s Hunted: The Demon’s Forge will all make an appearance.
This is most of the line-up the company’s shown off this year, with the notable exception of id’s Rage.
Eurogamer Expo takes place between October 1-3 at Earls Court, London. You can get tickets here.
While Tetsuya Nomura said Final Fantasy Agito XIII voice recording sessions will start after The 3rd Birthday, Agito isn’t the next game on Square Enix’s release list. Nomura said, over Twitter, there other unannounced games will be released first.
"There are several unannounced titles. These will go before Agito and Versus. Some have voice recording completed. Announcements will happen in Japan," Nomura affirmed.
This reminds me of a patent we found, registered to Tetsuya Nomura, for a puzzle RPG battle system. Square Enix, so far haven’t said anything about that idea.
Bailiffs are threatening to seize stock of Two Worlds II from publisher SouthPeak before the title goes on sale in October, according to a spokesperson from law firm Fladgate.
The publisher, who is currently engaged in a lawsuit with CDV Software over accusations of non-payment, could have all of its stock of Two Worlds II seized by bailiffs before the game even goes on general sale, with the stock instead being auctioned off to cover debts allegedly owed by the firm.
"The question is, do we seize the stock or let it sell and seize the proceeds?" said Lawrence Abramson, partner at Fladgate, talking to GamesIndustry.biz.
"And then there's the question of whether Centresoft would want to distribute Two Worlds II for Southpeak. It's not their problem of course, but it does unsettle the staff when bailiffs turn up at the door."
According to GamesIndustry.biz, bailiffs recently seized and auctioned 40,000 units of stock from SouthPeak's warehouse, generating over £50,000 towards the $3.4m allegedly owed to now-defunct German publisher CDV Interactive Software.
The firm went into liquidation following alleged non-payment from SouthPeak.
Two Worlds II is due to go on sale on October 8th.

Namco Bandai flight franchise returns to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next year, trailer shows helicopter battles, destructible environments.
Ace Combat fans can get ready to fly the unfriendly skies once again, as Namco Bandai today announced Ace Combat Assault Horizon for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Set for release next year, the game will be the first console iteration in the series since 2007's Xbox 360-exclusive Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.
Namco Bandai confirmed single-player and online multiplayer options for Assault Horizon, but few other details were given about the latest effort from series developer Project Aces. A teaser trailer suggested the game will be a rebirth for the franchise, with one quickly glimpsed text message at the outset promising, "This one's a game changer." The clip showed dogfights through downtown skyscrapers that jettisoned debris when struck with missiles, helicopter battles, and turret-gunning sequences.
While a new Ace Combat hasn't been seen on consoles in nearly three years, the series has since appeared on the handheld radar a couple of times. Last year saw the debut of Ace Combat Xi: Skies of Incursion for the iPhone, while the PSP receives its second installment of the franchise, Ace Combat: Joint Assault, later this month.

Volition the creators of Saints Row series and the revitalized Red Faction Guerrilla have recently posted a job application for an upcoming title on their Twitter. Sadly nobody yet knows what the mysterious title could be.
Here is the tweet in question: http://twitter.com/VolitionInc/statuses/20738224842
What could it be? Well if you have any thoughts on what it could be do let us know. We are at a complete loss. Since it is Volition we are guessing it will be by THQ and prolly won’t be announced until next year with Red Faction and Saints Row still on their slate. Feel Free to comment below.
Double Fine’s trademarked something known as “Costume Quest,” according to Siliconera.
The Brutal Legend studio registered said filing for game software and downloadable games.
Company boss Tim Schafer announced last month at Develop that the studio was developing four new titles which have already been signed up to publishing partners: two are for retail, two are downloadable.
Ninja Theory hasn’t completely ruled out the idea of developing a sequel to its 2007 PlayStation 3 exclusive adventure, Heavenly Sword.
Quizzed by GI.biz whether or not the developer would consider making a sequel if Sony expressed interest in such a project, studio boss Tameem Antoniades replied, “I’d never say never,” though was keen to point out that the firm has since “moved on” from the idea.
“But we’ve kind of moved on now. Our focus is on Enslaved, and making that successful. If we build a franchise out of it there’s a lot of potential in the action-adventure space that surprisingly isn’t that common.”
Antoniades went on to say that Ninja Theory did originally want to pursue a sequel to the hack ‘n slash outing, though decided to put a lid on things due to the relatively lacklustre reception of Heavenly Sword at retail – it failed to break even, after all.
“We did actually want to do a sequel, and we did pursue that – but we’re not a first party studio, we’re a third party studio, and we knew that over the next few years we’ve got to be releasing multi-platform games,” he said.
“The game Heavenly Sword didn’t sell enough to have a confident sequel, so it would have put ourselves as a development studio in a very precarious situation.”

Sledgehammer Games is currently at work on Call Of Duty 8, which is due to arrive next year. And a Twitter post from a studio exec has teased the very first details of what we can expect.
Studio co-founder Glen Schofield has leaked that the next Call of Duty game will feature situations encountered by real military soldiers - or at least inspired by them.
"Working w/ military guys- their stories will blow you away. Names/locations will change but some situations going in the game- real stuff!" he Tweeted today.
Sledgehammer Games is headed up by ex-Visceral Games employees Schofield and Michael Condrey, who left EA's Dead Space team to work on CoD titles for Activision.
And Schofield's CoD-based Tweeting today referenced his past glories, too:
He added: 'Picking composers 4 the game. Fun stuff, think we found a great fit. Audio will b better than what we did on Dead Space.'
A bold claim indeed.
Sledgehammer's Call Of Duty game will be an 'adventure FPS' spin-off from the CoD series - and shouldn't affect the arrival of Infinity Ward's 'proper' next entry in the franchise in 2011.
Some have rumoured that the Sledgehammer's Dead Space heritage may mean it's tackling CoD: Space Warfare.
Treyarch is set to release Call of Duty: Black Ops in November, they recently described the game as 'classic Call of Duty'.
Cambridge-based studio Ninja Theory aren't pulling any punches when it comes to talking up their game, with company co-founder Tameem Antoniades claiming that the team's upcoming game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will "easily (be) the best game we've ever made."
But according to Antoniades, quality "doesn't guarantee success", and the creative director is still left wondering whether Enslaved is "going to sell" when it launches this October.
"It's amazing the amount of work you do to make a game," said Antoniades speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, "and I think this is easily the best game we've ever made, and the team is proud of what it's achieved, it was a good, confident project.
"So I don't think there will be too many issues about the quality of the game - but that's only half the equation. The rest is whether the publisher can get it out there, will it capture people's imagination, is it going to sell?
"That's the weird, difficult, sad thing about games, isn't it?", Antoniades continued. "It doesn't matter if the game is good to an extent... actually it does matter, but even if the game is great, that doesn't guarantee success."
Of course, Antoniades claim could easily be valid. The studio has only released two games up until now; 2003's Kung Fu Chaos, and the disappointing PS3-exclusive Heavenly Sword.
We can't imagine Enslaved struggling too much to beat those...
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is an action/adventure game in the same vein as last year's stunning Uncharted 2, which follows Monkey and Trip on an adventure across an Earth overrun by evil robots.
The game launches on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October, and we'll be going hands-on with the game at next week's GamesCom. Be sure to check back during the show for more
According to an update from Levine, on August 11, the game will be revealed to the press with not only the trailer, but a live demonstration as well. In the coming weeks, the demo will be released to the community as well, but there’s no exact date of “when” just yet, he said.
THQ’s announced it’s releasing Costume Quest from Double Fine, the first of the studio’s downloadable titles.
The publisher will also release the other downloadable game in early 2011, although there are no details for that.
Studio boss Tim Schafer announced last month at Develop the studio was creating four new titles, two of them were downloadable and two for retail.
Costume Quest, according to 1UP, takes place on Halloween night, where players “collect candy, points, cards, battle stamps, and quest assignments from the neighborhood” as trick-or-treaters.
This leads into Combat Mode where “the kids turn into gigantic versions of their costumes complete with superpowers. They’ll use these abilities to battle monsters in suburban neighborhoods, shopping malls, and a carnival.”
The game comes from Tasha Harris, Double Fine’s lead animator.
“We wanted to make a big impression with these, our first downloadable games ever,” said Schafer.
“So we are coming out swinging with two great adventures from two of the most creative minds in the company.”
“We are delighted to work with the creative genius of Tim Schafer and the entire Double Fine studio,” added THQ’s Martin Good.
“Delivering high-quality content across a variety of digital distribution platforms is an important growth initiative for us, and we are pleased to do so with two titles whose potential appeal could encompass both hardcore and casual players.”
No platforms for it yet.

Many fans were disappointed that Valkyria Chronicles II was announced as a PSP exclusive. Instead, they were hoping that it would be released on the Playstation 3 just like the first title.
Even so, the possibility is still there for Sega to bring the sequel to the high-definition console. When a fan asked if Valkyria Chronicles II will be released on the Playstation 3 as well as the PSP, Sega of America’s Assistant Community Manager Aaron Webber responded with the following statement in the comments section of the Playstation.Blog:
Valkyria Chronicles I is a PS3 exclusive, and Valkyria Chronicles II is a PSP exclusive. Taking a game from the PSP and updating for the PS3 is a pretty huge process, and I don’t think there are any plans to do that currently. An interesting question though!
In somewhat related news, Aaron Webber also provided an update about the possibility of the original Valkyria Chronicles receiving a trophy patch:
While there’s no news about a trophy patch for the original game, I do know there are tons of people out there who would love to see one, and I’ve passed that on as far as I can within SEGA.
He later added the following:
I’ve passed on for a long time now that fans would love to see it, as shown by the many comments asking for it. It isn’t a decision I can make personally, but I’ve pushed as many people as possible to let them know of the support out there for it.
Valkyria Chronicles II will be released for the PSP on August 31st.
