“We’ve been talking about it for quite a while,” the studio’s creative director and general manager told Eurogamer.

“THQ and Kaos have always looked at it as a franchise. Assuming it does well, that’s certainly the plan – to move on to future Homefront products.”

When, or if, Homefront 2 happens, Votypka hinted at a new gameplay mechanic for the game.

“I can’t talk too much about it, but I will say that in Homefront we have some great in-game storytelling moments and we have our combat moments.

“I’d like to add a third gameplay layer to that. A really gameplay centric layer. I’ll leave it at that.”

The signs for the series’ future has been good so far. On one hand, the first title has been the most pre-ordered title in THQ’s history. And on the other, it confirmed at GDC that THQ Montreal is to develop the series in future alongside Kaos

Former Capcom super developer Keiji Inafune will be breaking his silence in an upcoming talk session. At an event to be held on the 15th at Nihonbashi Cafest, Inafune will speak about his plans for the future. The event will be hosted by Nikkei Entertainment editor Hideo Shinada.

The event is titled "Donhan Inafune no Kanedobu Time!" This name comes from a meme that was formed when a video surfaced of Inafune chewing out one of his producers at Capcom, saying something along the lines of "What kind of decision was this? Are you trying to throw away money?". You can see that video here (Inafune begins his attack at the 55 second mark):

"Wrecked: Revenge Revisited" anunciado

Imagen

Supersonic, developer of last generation’s popular multiplayer racer Mashed: Drive to Survive, has announced a followup to the game in partnership with publisher 505 Games.

Wrecked: Revenge Revisited promises to build on the legacy Mashed began. It’s an arcade racer, with players utilizing weapons and vehicle enhancements to knock their opponents off the course. Players can customize their vehicles, take it through a 24-challenge single-player Championship Mode, or take it online or locally against friends with up to four players across several multiplayer modes.

“With Wrecked, we really want to build on the legacy that Mashed began on the previous generation of consoles, while at the same time bring some truly kick-ass racing and multiplayer action the likes of which racing fans have never seen,” said Pete Williamson, managing director of Supersonic. “After playing the game, we think you’ll see that we succeeded. Moving away from the trappings of standard racing games and putting a focus on all-out carnage and mayhem is what really makes Wrecked a can’t miss experience for fans of multiplayer racing.”

No release date yet, but the publisher said more information will be released in the “coming weeks and months.” Check out the first couple of screenshots at the gallery.

Where else can you hop on the back of a T-Rex and ramble about the countryside discovering strange lands, and collecting goodies as you quest? Maybe in dreams after hitting the hookah a bit.

The game also includes friendly competition with other players, and allows you to go against your pals in kart racing and demolition derbies, soccer matches and pirate ship battles – you name it. It’s there, apparently, along with Flash-based minigames and puzzles.

You can download it via PSN starting March 29 and if you upgrade to a membership, you will get unlimited access to all job levels, as well as additional premium content and features.

As of June last year, the game had over 12 million users.

The Grinder sigue vivo

Speaking to Siliconera, HV’s Eric Stoll told the site that it was in “vertical slice status”, and is waiting to see if it needs to make any more changes to the game like making it more action-based or feature RPG elements.

The game was previous a first-person shooter that was exclusive to Wii, but has since turned into a third-person shooter that will also come to PS3 and 360.

High Voltage’s next game, The Conduit 2, releases on April 22 for Wii.

Back in 2009, High Voltage Studios discussed its plan to shift Animales de la Muerte, a game with the irresistible concept of "zombie zoo animals," from WiiWare to retail because of a large amount of audio.

The twin-stick shooter has resurfaced again, and has returned to the download space -- as an XBLA and PSN game. IGN saw this new version at GDC, noting that even though the game has existed for years, it's in a very early state again as a result of a newly rebuilt engine, with the HUD, many enemies, and even some basic gameplay elements like dropoff locations for rescued non-zombie animals yet to be implemented.

Fumito Ueda (Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian): Me gustaría hacer un FPS y juegos en 2D

Team Ico head Fumito Ueda is currently hard at work on The Last Guardian for PlayStation 3, but what would the man behind classics like Ico and Shadow of the Colossus want to make in the future? Edge asks him just that.

“If I get the chance, there are things that I’d like to make or challenge myself with, yes,” he told the latest issue of Edge.

“For instance, I’d like to make 2D games. Right now, that’s what I’d like to do – it may change tomorrow. Oh, and an FPS. Yes, I’d like to make an FPS. I play quite a lot of FPS games in my free time.”

A Ueda-developed FPS? Now, that’s probably something I’d want to play.

Clash of Heroes HD: De Nintendo DS a Playstation Network

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes HD, a home console revamp of the DS puzzle RPG gem of the same name, launches on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade next month.

Publisher Ubisoft is yet to announce an exact date but Capybara Games boss Nathan Vella told Joystiq it would be out in "mid April".

The DS original, which launched early last year, won a glowing 8/10 from Eurogamer.

The HD version isn't quite a straight remake. As Vella told Eurogamer last year, new multiplayer modes have been added, units rebalanced and new abilities dished out. Oh, and as the screens below should make abundantly order, it's now ridiculously pretty too.

During the Irrational Games panel at PAX East in Boston this weekend, a fan asked Irrational boss Ken Levine, ‘is there hope for a System Shock 3?’ Levine answered.

“You know, life is — get ready for my fortune cookie answer — life is like long and complicated and you never know what’s going to happen,” he said.

The fan cut-in: “Sounds like you’re talking about sex.” The crowd laughed.

Levine continued: “We have an obviously huge emotional attachment to [System Shock]…. I made that game as a fan, we [Irrational] made that game as fans.

“There would be a lot of moving pieces for that [System Shock 3] to happen. So I can’t say.”

Disaster Report 4 cancelado

Disaster Report 4, a sequel that follow the events of a destructive earthquake in a future metropolis, was expected to see a delay after the recent earthquakes in Japan. Rather than push back the date, however, Irem’s cancelled the game.

In a statement released today, Irem simply stated the game’s been cancelled, without providing reason. They apologize to all the fans who’ve been waiting for the game and to those who’ve worked on the project.

Disaster Report 4 was initially announced in August 2010 as a PlayStation 3-exclusive. Famitsu had its most recent report on the game on March 2.

The game will come with a input jack that would enable you to plug in a real guitar to a console, although Ubisoft is apparently negating with “the likes of Gibson and others” to sell a $200 bundle that will feature the game and a real guitar, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Artists confirmed so far including the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Nirvana and the Animals, with songs that have never appeared on Guitar Hero or Rock Band also due to make an appearance on Rocksmith.

Crytek UK, formerly known as Free Radical, is aiming to reveal their new project during E3, this year, according to Crytek co-founder Avni Yerli.

“The way the studio is set up means we don’t have to tell them what to do – the thinking is more about what we [Crytek management] can do to help them get on with their own work,” Yerli told Develop Online during a recent interview.

“We come to mutual conclusions on projects, and I think at E3 this year – or just after – we are going to make a big announcement that I think people will be happy about.

“I think the gaming scene and the UK scene are going to be very pleased with the new project they’re working on.”

I take it that’s TimeSplitters 4, then, right Yerli?

Square Enix is reportedly negotiating with several Canadian provincial governments to open a second studio in the country. Squeenix already has Eidos Montreal (Deus Ex: Human Revolution), which it acquired in the buyout of the publisher in 2009. According to La Presse, the new studio would employ "at least" 100 people, with Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal up for potential locations.

Square is expected to determine the location of the second studio by the end of May, with offices opening in 2012 to develop games for "the new consoles from Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo," which will require more attention and staff, according to Eidos Montreal Director Stéphane D'Astous.

And the "Canadian shift" marches ever onward.

Avalanche plans to announce the title, finally, sometime in the coming week, reports CVG, along with its publishing partner.

The game was built using tech from the other full-release projects the team is working on.

“We’ll probably show the game at E3,” said the firm’s founder Christofer Sundberg. “It’s original IP and a pretty cool little game. It’s our first multiplayer title.

“There’s so much work going into the tech and game design of our bigger, more risky projects, we thought that we could use that on XBLA and PSN; that we could use the same tech and experience to create something that costs about as much as one milestone payment for the bigger projects. We’ve built high production values on this title. It looks absolutely stunning.

“It’s been such a success internally, PSN and XBLA is now seen as a very tempting world to go further into.”

Sundberg told Eurogamer back in January that Avalanche has two other projects in the works, but are not ready for an announcement just yet.

It’s thought the studio is also working on a Mad Max game to tie-in with Mad Max 4: Fury Road next year, with God of War II’s Cory Barlog working on the game.

After the first clue surfaced, a picture of a script on a table with a pair of black leather gloves, another one showing a box of jelly doughnuts known in Denmark as a ‘berliner’ came from the Sundance film festival. The clue pointed folks towards the Berlinale film festival, which ended on February 16.

Then there was another picture sent, along with coordinates pointing to Lake Ontario, near Toronto,Canada and the Canadian National Exhibition Centre.

It’s all a bit much and confusing, but if you can look over the forums yourself. Take some Tylenol before start probing the 15-page thread though.

Eurogamer was told last year that the next Hitman game was being worked on and could possibly see a release “next year,” meaning 2011.

Hopefully IO and Square won’t keep us waiting much longer.

El Shaddai podría tener secuelas, en plural...

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron isn’t even in stores yet, but Ignition has high hopes for the first production from their Japan studio. I asked Shane Bettenhausen, New Business Development Director, what’s next for Ignition Japan. Are they planning another title?

"I think there will be extensions of the El Shaddai universe first, before they work on a totally different game," Bettenhausen replied in a Siliconera interview. "Clearly, the world is deep. I played through the whole game now and it left me with tons of questions. What happened a thousand years ago? What happens after this? What does this character do?"

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is loosely based on the book of Enoch. At one point in the game, a single level spans several decades of time. Bettenhausen hints there is much more for ground to cover, though.

"I think those guys, when I was just there, are thinking what else can we do with this world? The characters have taken off in Japan. It’s a big meme. There are character goods coming out from Bandai. I really think El Shaddai has the potential in Japan to become a big franchise with lots of games." You can’t beat the kind of promotional support El Shaddai has in the region either. There are dozens of videos where Enoch says "no problem" on NicoNico and God gave Bandai orders to make figures for the game.

We’ll see if El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron gets as much buzz when Ignition releases it for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this summer.

Rumor: ¿Un Silent Hill descargable y multijugador?

If the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine in Italy is to be believed, Konami’s planning a downloadable Silent Hill title solely focused on multiplayer.

When asked if the upcoming Silent Hill: Downpour would include any type of multiplayer mode, Vatra Games Art Director Radek Marek responded: “At the moment there will be no multiplayer modes in Silent Hill: Downpour, but Konami are investigating a separate chapter devoted entirely to the multiplayer. We do not know the details but it should be an Xbox LIVE Arcade title that most players have to survive in the town of Silent Hill.”

Resident Evil: Outbreak worked. Maybe this could, too.

Level 5 (WKC, Ni No Kuni) llevará a cabo 20 anuncios en agosto

Level-5, developer of PlayStation 3′s White Knight Chronicles and the platform’s upcoming Ni No Kuni, has told Japanese publication Nikkei Trendy to expect around 20 new title announcements at this year’s Level-5 Vision press conference.

Last year’s show saw 10 title announcements. Take in mind that the phrase ‘title announcements’ doesn’t mean they’re announcing 20 new games; they’ll merely be making 20 announcements regarding their upcoming titles. Sure, some of them are probably new game announcements, but don’t expect 20.

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino said to expect major surprises at this year’s event, even more so than last year’s reveal of Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, which they’re developing in coalition with Capcom. He also said to expect something that reaches out of the games industry, similar to PS3′s upcoming Ni No Kuni, which is being created in collaboration with anime movie maker Studio Ghibli.

Hino told the site that the company’s new Los Angeles studio, which opened last September, is planning its own titles, developed in North America. He hinted at them being downloadable games, saying he’s heard downloadable titles are rising in the North American market.

This year’s Level-5 Vision will most likely be held in August, he told the site. Stay tuned.

Rumor: ¿Primera imagen de Hitman 5?

For the last three weeks, members of the Hitman Forum website have been following a breadcrumb trail in a Hitman ARG (alternate reality game). All their efforts had led them to the first released screenshot from the upcoming Hitman 5 game. The users have also discovered that we will be able to learn more about the IO Interactive and Edios game at this summer’s E3 convention. Save and Quit will be there and post any and all updates on Hitman 5.

A timeline of the info found from the members of the forum leading them to the screenshot and info of E3:

“14/2/11: Ol’good Фелло Acid Burn shared with the community his “accidental” finding on a film festival catalogue. The early scepticism has been swepped away by Nick’s succesful efforts to “nourish” the gate, and HF detective machine got on the move.

25/2/11: First mail sent by PM in response to the info request. First speculations on the incomplete phone number (Toronto area), game scripts and a possible date, that looks to be the third of march.

3/3/11: 2nd pic sent by PM; artworks, coords and incomplete phone number still point at Toronto, precisely at the Exhibition Place facilities, where Wizard World Comic Con is about to take place. Also, Kotti and themurder2k5 supposed a possible link between the barcodes in the first 2 pics: after crossing them, they seem to indicate a date, 11/07/?? (yy/dd/mm), possibly aiming at the next Electronic Entertaiment Expo.

18/3/11: 3rd pic sent by PM; still Toronto recalls, plus a “06″ present on the new barcode, therefore confirming the E3 speculation. Still something else to sort out to have a clear overview.”

EA: ¿Dead Space 3?

So according to EA, Dead Space 3 will be more like Resident Evil 5. In a recent interview, comparisons were made to Capcom’s survival horror.

Frank Gibeau, EA Games President, spoke about how EA is doing their best to greatly expand not only their first-person shooter market but also their action market. Hit the jump to see what he had to say.

“The Resident Evil series was awesome, the early versions were phenomenal. Capcom did a good job of growing the franchise to a very large market,” Gibeau said. “I think we still have some areas to grow with Dead Space in terms of trying to reach a broader audience without losing the quality and that survival-horror mechanic. That’s how we’re going to think about it as we think about Dead Space 3 and what we do next with the IP.”

“Overall, we want to try and grow the business in the action category,” Gibeau explains further. “EA doesn’t really have a very strong stake there; survival-horror kind of lives in that genre. 3rd-person action is something that we think we can build and our Visceral Games team is really working hard at crafting some new IPs as well as building out ones that have succeeded. Horror movies are great films; it’s a genre that’s been around for decades. We think the same holds true for interactive.”

So what do you guys think? Should Dead Space be made into a more action-focused experience?

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls llegara a las stores occidentales

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls, released by developer Acquire over the Japanese PlayStation Network in December 2009, is coming overseas. A new ESRB rating has revealed that publisher XSEED will bring the game to North America.

Due to alcohol reference, mild blood, fantasy violence, language and partial nudity, the game’s received a Teen rating. ESRB’s full description reads:

This is a role-playing game in which players explore maze-like environments and battle fantastical enemies. Players traverse through dungeons and enter into turn-based battles with ghosts, demons, goblins, and zombies—depicted in still images. Players select attacks/spells from a menu screen to use in random attacks against enemies that disappear when defeated. Some enemies are depicted with bloodstained swords or wounds that expose small amounts of red flesh. Players can also access a gallery mode that includes a few partially nude characters (e.g., creatures with exposed buttocks or hair barely covering breasts). One quest prompts players to search for sacramental wine; a reward is offered for every bottle collected. The words ‘a*s’ and ‘bastard’ appear in the dialogue.

Quantic Dream's next game could be called Fiv5, domain registrations suggest.

Internet sleuth superannuation spotted a number of domain registrations relating to Fiv5, as well as LinkedIn profiles of QD staff members mentioning Five.

It appears Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has also trademarked the name in relation to computer and video game software, suggesting Fiv5 – if that's what it's called – could be a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

Tempering the speculation surrounding Fiv5, Cage has been known to lead us the garden path when it comes to his upcoming games.

Last year Cage confirmed the rumoured Horizon project was designed from the start as a red herring.

"This is a codename that one of our partners used in casting sessions along with an unrelated script to avoid leaks from actors," Cage said. "It seems it was definitely a wise decision."

Superannuation also spotted mention of Infraworld, the game COO Guillaume de Fondaumiere confirmed was canned back in 2006.

But, as Superannuation notes, creative tour de force David Cage said in March last year that the basis of the story for his next game is already written.

There's even mention of Infraworld in a Heavy Rain Easter Egg, below. Could it be back on?

Only last week Cage spoke about his next game.

"For our next project we're going to build on what we have discovered with Heavy Rain," he told the EU PlayStation Blog. "We own this genre of Interactive Drama and we want to show that Heavy Rain was not a coincidence; it is something that makes sense and we can build on it.

"At the same time, we will not make a sequel and I made that very clear from the beginning, regardless of whether the game was a success or a failure, because I wanted to show that this is a new genre that you can use to tell any kind of story, in any style.

"We're going to be exploring a different direction, which will still be very dark and still for adults, but completely different to Heavy Rain. Our challenge is to satisfy our fans, and also surprise them."

Ready at Dawn, the developer of the PSP God of War and Jak & Daxter spin-offs, is hiring staff to work on a “AAA New IP” title for home consoles, according to some newly surfaced job postings.

Posted on tech and videogame job site CreativeHeads.net, the three positions for a senior lighting artist, gameplay programmer and senior character artist are all for a new property.

The job postings page also reveals that the new IP will be a third-person action adventure – pointing to the fact that the new title might benefit from Ready at Dawn’s experience in the GoW series.

What home consoles or publishers the new IP is being developed for isn’t mentioned in the postings.

This is a notable step for Ready at Dawn, who previously only worked on spin-offs of existing properties for Sony and a port for Capcom, bringing Okami to Wii.

The folks behind Comic Book convention WonderCon have confirmed that the next Spider-Man game will make an appearance at the show via their official website.

The site lists a panel titled “Activision Spider-Man,” running from 2.30 to 3.30 on Saturday, April 2, and the description of the panel promises “exclusive details, screenshots and videos of the next Spider-Man game.”

The panel will likely have guys from Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Developer Beenox – the studio was confirmed to be handling the next Spider-Man by Activision in January.

The panel will also feature a post-mortem of sorts on Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

Metal Gear Solid creator will be at E3 this year and make two new game announcements, according to a rumor found within the latest issue of UK magazine PSM3.

The rumor reads: “MGS maestro Hideo Kojima’s got some big announcements for E3 in June: one a quasi-logical step for an existing game, the other… well, we’d be shocked if MGS5 wasn’t on the table at some stage. Or under it. In a box.”

Back in January, during PlayStation Presentation 2011, Kojima said he would like to announce his “dream” NGP creation, which he is currently working on, during E3 this year. This could possibly be one of the games.

A rumor from Official PlayStation Magazine UK back in February suggests the next Metal Gear will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show, rather than E3.

Looks like we’ll find out what’s true and what’s not during E3, which runs from June 7-10.

http://www.vandal.net/noticia/54746/resident-evil-4-y-code-veronica-para-la-alta-resolucion/
