- Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Series X) > Me faltaban jugar los episodios 8 y 9 desde Semana Santa, que ni había visto las pelis... pero bueno, ya finiquitado. El primer Lego que juego y me ha parecido muy divertido, aparte se ve espectacular. Un gran trabajo como han recreado los escenarios, las naves, los grandes momentos con un toque cómico...

Muy recomendado para los fans de Star Wars.

Planet of Lana: un plataformas entretenido, sencillote, cuqui, recomendable.

Evil West: un juego que se me ha hecho muy tedioso. Al final le acabé bajando la dificultad, no está del todo bien equilibrado. Es un matamata-machacabotones, y debo reconocer que la mecánica que tanto han popuparizado los últimos Doom de avanzar, llegar una zona que se cierra como si fuera una arena de multiplayer, y aguantar hasta que dejan de salir bichos, me ha terminado por cansar. Me he pasado este año Doom Eternal, Metal: Hellsinger, Shadow Warrior 3 y Evil West con la misma mecánica y ya no pienso jugar uno con esa mecánica en mucho tiempo.

Mario Kart 8: aunque solo he jugado en modo un jugador contra la máquina, es muy divertido, en la Ally se juega genial, me lo he pasado pipa.

Halo ODST y Halo Reach: rejugando clásicos, no los vuelvo a puntuar. Halo Reach es una maravilla

Ghost of Tsushima: no tengo tiempo para juegos tan largos, me pero me empeño en jugar uno al año. A destacar principalmente:
  • Graficos: la PS4 slim va al límite, en algún momento rasca bastante, pero mantiene el tipo y es resultón.
  • Arte: precioso, paisajes y ambientación muy muy buenos.
  • Música y sonido: la música en las misiones principales acompaña, en el resto del juego no tanto, pero está bien.
  • Combate: sin duda lo mejor del juego, muy satisfactorio y accesible.
  • Mejoras: bien también, el arbol de habilidades y las mejoras son intersantes y asequibles sin excesivo looting.
  • Mapa: bastante grande, variedad de paisajes, sorprende la distancia de dibujado desde las cumbres. Variedad de tipos de sitios a encontrar, la orientación por el viento es original.
  • Historia: la historia me ha gustado, es interesante, y las secundarias que completan la historia de los aliados también están bien. Lo complementan las leyendas, en general este es otro punto fuerte del juego.
  • Mecánica sandbox: la verdad que si que me ha resultado un poco coñazo el ir limpiando mapa, capturando aldeas...si las hubiera tenido que capturar como parte de las secundarias, habría sido más entretenido. La primera zona la coges con ganas, la segunda ya con un poco de desgana, y la tercera con apatía, pero como en ese punto eres una máquina de matar te despejas el mapa en un rato.

De los sandbox que he jugado esta generación, creo que los ordenaría así:
RDR2 > Horizon Zero Daw > GTA 5 > Ghost of Tsushima > Far Cry 5 > Days Gone > Spiderman (a medias)

The Callisto Protocol: grata sorpresa, muy buen survival horror, gráficamente top, audio top, jugabilidad muy bien, divertido, duración correcta, dificultad equilibrada, un producto muy redondo.

The house of the dead Remake: pillé key por media peseta y está entretenido, para pegarle 3 o 4 pasadas y picarse un poco, que pena que no haya lightguns.

Muy adictivo.
Es dificil muriendo muchas veces pero la reaparición es instantanea. Su música es motivadora. Al principio me costó controlar el mando sobre todo lo del doble stick pero ya hacia la mitad tenia los gestos automáticos.

En 3 ocasiones tuve que reiniciar todo el nivel porque un enemigo se colocaba fuera del escenario y no podia eliminarle ni él a mi.

Los capítulos extra son bastante más sencillos.

He aprovechado las vacaciones (y la estancia de un familiar en el hospital) para sacar jugo a la Steam Deck con dos juegos que tenía ganas de rejugar (bueno, Death Stranding llevaba jugándolo desde julio, a los pocos). Se viene una reflexión un poco larga sobre Death Stranding, por que no me sale en unas pocas líneas.

RESIDENT EVIL VII: 8
Es un juego estupendo, aunque la memoria me había hecho olvidar que la parte que pasas fuera de la mansión, donde claramente baja enteros, es considerable. Pero vamos, los dos primeros tercios son impecables. Aunque argumentalmente sigo sin saber muy bien por qué es un Resident Evil, mecánicamente es un acercamiento a los orígenes como pocos, aún con el cambio de punto de vista. Y al final, la mansión Baker y su casa de invitados son escenarios que ya me resultan tan icónicos como los más clásicos de la saga: tensos, interesantes, cuidados y aunque absolutamente imposibles, tan bien paridos que consiguen que, pese a las llaves con simbolitos, los mecanismos extraños y los pasadizos secretos, consiguen que se mantenga la suspensión de incredulidad. Para mí, por encima de Village con claridad.

DEATH STRANDING: 9
Voy por partes, por que it’s complicated. Lo pongo todo en spoiler, por que es largo y por que, aunque creo que realmente no suelto ninguno grande (rollo decir el final), si alguien quiere llegar virgen al juego sí puedo decir alguna cosa que le fastidie. Lo pongo entero y así evitamos disgustos.
He jugado a muchos juegos de mundo abierto, me gustan. Y algunos mapas me han resultado fascinantes, claro. Pero si me preguntas de cuántos he terminado conociendo el terreno al dedillo hasta el punto de recordarlo al rejugarlo 4 años después, tal vez la respuesta sea que sólo uno: Death Stranding. Y eso es por que aquí no hay un mapa: hay un territorio, y eso es lo más importante de todo el juego, por que es lo que le define. Uno con el que debes lidiar, con el que te debes involucrar muy activamente. Cada piedra, cada colina, cada río.. todo está ahí por algo, no hay nada al azar. Y cuando tienes que volver sobre tus pasos, te das cuenta de que has aprendido sobre él. Se ha criticado a Death Stranding por ser un walking simulator, pero creo que Death Stranding es el único walking simulator que he jugado jamás, en realidad, y es brillante. Aquí andar es una mecánica jugable, con cierto reto, mucha planificación. Cada paso que das, sientes que lo estás dando realmente. Cuando Kojima dijo que iba a inventar un género, además de darse el pisto (que sí), tal vez también se refiriera a esto: ha inventado el walking simulator, y lo ha hecho demostrando que lo que hasta ahora se llamaba así era otra cosa totalmente distinta.
Por eso me sobra tanto todo lo demás. El combate, ¿por qué?. Te compro los entes varados, sobretodo en su primera “fase”, por que funcionan, resultan tensos hasta cuando ya los tienes controlados, pero todo lo demás… ¿qué aporta? ¿Qué aportan las mulas? ¿Por que hay final bosses (pochísimos, además, aunque con un diseño resultón) en este juego? Que además son esponjas de balas y en las que el único reto es dar vueltas por el escenario buscando que un hologramas te lance lanzagranadas y bolsas de sangre. Hay un momento en el que se juntan la lucha contra el EV que crea Higgs y la lucha contra el propio Higgs que es un dolor de muelas pero no por retante sino por aburrido. ¿Por qué, en general, el que es probablemente el único juego de la industria que convierte el NO MATAR en una mecánica jugable activa tiene que tener fusiles de asalto y lanzacohetes? ¿Por qué hay 3 capítulos, las pesadillas, que parecen pornografía bélica? Por suerte, salvo los horribles bosses y esos tres capítulos, el combate es evitable y evitarlo termina siendo hasta interesante a veces, como buscar una ruta alternativa para evitar un campamento de mulas, pero todo lo que implica usar armas, aquí, me resta. Volviendo al principio, el problema de Death Stranding no es ser un walking simulator, es el no serlo suficiente, es cuando se aparta del camino.
Y después está la historia. La historia es buena, el guión… no tanto. Kojima tiene en su cabeza una big picture muy potente que no siempre consigue llevar a la pantalla bien, por que es peor escritor de lo que piensa y no termina de aceptar consejos. Fruto de ello hay mucho diálogo mejorable, alguna escena risible (también otras que funcionan como un tiro), algunos personajes muy mal perfilados (Higgs es el peor, pero Deadman, por ejemplo, funciona siempre regular) y bastante reiteración. Además, concentra todo el grueso de las revelaciones en las últimas horas de juego, dosifica mal. En cambio, lo que quiere transmitir llega (y lo jugable tiene mucho que ver aquí). Y llega sobretodo cuando evita la grandilocuencia y habla de cosas más cercanas. No es casualidad que los mejores personajes del juego, Fragile, Mamá y Heartman, tengan las tramas más emocionales y personales y menos “mission: save America, save the world”. Y creo que Kojima lo sabe, y por eso el capítulo 14, el final emocional, va después del 13, el final más explicativo.
Es un 9 para mí por que al final el total es mucho más que la suma de sus partes, pero es un 9 con matices (creo que es casi imposible hablar de este juego sin ellos).

Con la próxima salida del Super Mario Bros. Wonder estoy intentando pasarme aquellos Marios que estaban cogiendo polvo en el armario. En el caso del New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, es difícil describirlo. Sabe como un Mario clásico pero le falta un toque de magia y encanto. Lo disfruté pero al mismo tiempo, me frustró más que otros Marios 2D y en eso pierde con respecto a los anteriores. Como remake del clásico Super Mario Bros es buen juego sin duda.

En cuanto al DLC de Donkey Kong mejora al juego original. La ambientación es maravillosa y el carisma de Donkey y Cranky permiten jugar a la aventura de forma más fluida. Imprescindible si te gusta el juego base.

FPS frenético en el que debemos atacar al ritmo de la música. El juego es básicamente una sucesión de caminos rectos sin posibilidad de desviarse y de arenas, ya que al llegar a cierto punto, la zona se cierra y no se abre hasta que matas a todos los enemigos, repitiéndose 4 veces aproximadamente por cada uno de los infiernos (pantallas).

En total son 9 infiernos que, si vamos a lo rápido (los únicos enemigos que estamos obligados a matar son los de las pequeñas arenas) no nos llevara más de 3-4 horas.

Además de eso, al pasarnos los infiernos se desbloquean una especie de retos (tormentos) en cada uno de ellos (3 por infierno), que al pasárnoslos nos premian con una serie de potenciadores que podemos equipar. Estos tormentos consisten en matar oleadas de enemigos de una forma concreta o con algún handicap, por ejemplo, solo con ataques especiales, solo con ejecuciones, sin curas, las armas cambian cada vez que matamos a un enemigo, etc.

Poco más, el juego no es especialmente rejugable, la historia no es que esté especialmente inspirada, y diría que lo más interesante es el hecho de tener que atacar a los enemigos al ritmo de la música para aumentar el contador de combo y para que conseguir que se escuche la voz del/la cantante, y que además de en eso, destaca por tener BSO brutalérrima siempre que te guste el Metal. Si te gusta dicho género musical, el juego es un 7, si no un 5.5-6 como mucho.

Lo habia dejado totalmente aparcado al poco de adquirirlo. Su duracion es mas bien escasa, aunque me he dejado un par de habitaciones por explorar (unas 4 horas). La idea no esta mal del todo, pero se nota que es un equipo no muy grande el que anda detras. Destaco la labor del equipo de doblaje, ya que me ha parecido muy 'profesional'. Ojala el estudio canario vuelva a la carga y nos brinde otra obra, al menos, igual de entretenida.

Sorpresa y uno de los tapados del año para mi. Lo compre digital y a los 3 días lo añadieron a GP, peor no fue hasta esta semana que decidí empezarlo.

Aventura en la cual debemos controlamos a un niño (Ollie) en busca de su hermana perdida en el bosque cercano a casa. A medida que avanzamos iremos sabiendo más del mundo de fantasía que habita en el bosque y de sus criaturas. Lo que parece un cuento infantil por su apartado gráfico, es en realidad un cuento lleno y historias macabras y desde luego contenido lejos de ser para niños.

Solo le achaco algunos problemas a la hora de detectar colisiones y problemas de rendimiento (tiene algunos tirones), pero por lo demás me ha encantado (le hice una pasada y hoy mismo una segundo a modo de speedrun para sacar el único logro que me faltaba), muy recomendable para los que busquen algo sencillo y corto (en unas 3-4 horas te lo acabas).

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier
A diferencia de las dos entregas anteriores, aquí tomamos el papel de Javi, un joven de origen latino que intenta salvar a sus familiares de los caminantes hambrientos. Nos cruzaremos con Clementine, pero en ningún momento podremos controlarla. Se echan en falta más secuencias con ella, por el lógico cariño que se le coge de las anteriores entregas, pero Javi es muy buen protagonista para afrontar esta nueva entrega de The Walking Dead y a los pocos minutos ya nos habremos encariñado con él. Considero que de la primera entrega a esta el nivel decae bastante, dado que se repiten continuamente las mismas situaciones y al final siempre terminamos enfrentándonos a un nuevo grupo de rebeldes que quieren tomar el control, en esta ocasión son los miembros del opresivo grupo "The New Frontier" que dan título al juego. Al final el dilema siempre es el mismo; grupos de humano haciendo lo posible por sobrevivir y somos nosotros quienes terminamos juzgando las acciones de cada uno para valorar si estamos haciendo lo correcto o no.

La historia no es tan emocional como anteriores entregas y muchas de las decisiones que toman algunos de los personajes no tienen sentido alguno, haciendo que se empatice poco con ellos. Además, en anteriores juegos se permitía más entablar conversaciones con los personajes dando lugar a muchas respuestas para conocerlos mejor y estrechar el lazo humano con ellos, cosa que aquí no ocurre tanto como desearía. Las escenas de acción son repetitivas y sencillas, con los típicos QTE a los que nos tiene acostumbrado TellTale. En general, y viniendo de las anteriores entregas muy frescas, la historia sigue atrapando pero veo que las ideas de los guionistas empiezan a escasear y poco a poco la saga se va desinflando.

The Walking Dead: Michonne
En este spin-off de The Walking Dead dejamos de lado la aventura de Clementine para manejar a Michonne, una luchadora que parte la pana a base de machetazos. La historia es corta y escueta, contando sólo con 3 episodios que te puedes ventilar en menos de 3 horas. Casi se podría considerar un DLC más que un juego completo debido a su escasa duración. Además la historia no es nada del otro mundo, volvemos a enfrentarnos a un grupo de rebeldes que declaran la guerra sobre nosotros. Una vez más se repiten las continuas situaciones que hemos vivido una y otra vez en las anteriores 3 entregas de la saga. Además, la historia central de Michonne se vuelve repetitiva, recurriendo una y otra vez a escuetos flashbacks para entender el por qué de este personaje. Una historia con un final nada relevante y muy predecible, haciendo que ésta sea sin duda la entrega más floja de la saga de The Walking Dead de TellTale Games.

Juego entretenido que puedes pasarte en 3 horas o menos si vas por faena, y que te llevará unas 6-7 si quieres sacarlo todo.

La mecánica del juego es simple (demasiado): en cada una de las distintas zonas deberemos destruir una serie de puntos clave (no digo que son para no spoilear), tras lo cual deberemos enfrentarnos al jefe de la zona. Todos los jefes tienen exactamente la misma mecánica y todas las zonas el mismo patrón añadiendo algún elemento nuevo para la exploración de la misma.

Además de ello en las zonas encontraremos algunos enemigos que derrotar o no, porque hacerlo no da absolutamente nada, así como una especie de bolas que solo tendrán una utilidad (recuperar barras de salud que tengas rotas).

Poco más, hay 3 misiones secundarias que podemos hacer si queremos, y una serie de coleccionables (uno de ellos sin una serie de diarios, y el otro información sobre compañeros que al conseguir todos los de la zona desbloqueará nuevos trajes).

Lo mejor del juego si duda es el control, el diseño y la música, por contra lo peor es que el juego es extremadamente simple, repitiendo lo mismo en cada zona, y teniendo los jefes exactamente la misma mecánica.

Lo bueno es que al ser un juego corto no se hace pesado, e invita incluso a darle una segunda pasada a modo speedrun.
24/09 - Final Fantasy VI (GBA) 8

Otro más finiquitado en la Odin, buen provecho le estoy sacando. Esta vez era uno de mis grandes pendientes que ya intenté pasarme en psp y hasta emulado en PC hace muchísimos años pero por alguna razón siempre me dejaba. Estoy un poco decepcionado con el juego. Para mi, pese a ser un buen juego, no está al nivel de VII, IX o IV. Mucho había oído hablar de su trama y el gran villano Kefka; no se que juego será, pero en este, la trama está decente sin despuntar en mucho, fallando en el transfondo de la mitad de los personajes del grupo, y kefka es un villano bastante olvidable. Me esperaba algo más elaborado.

Parte de la culpa la tiene también Chronno Trigger, el cual jugué estas navidades y considero que supera a FF VI en todos sus aspectos. O en casi todos, porque FF VI lo que sí tiene es una de las mejores bandas sonoras de la historia

Lies of P

Juegardo.

Menos mal que no me dejé llevar por la demo. Juegazo auténtico que honra a la saga Dark Souls.

Personalmente el juego que más me ha gustado de los que han salido este año y he jugado, por delante de Wo Long y Zelda TOTK.

Juego desafiante, pulido al máximo (algo raro de ver hoy día) a 60 fps y 4K, genial jugabilidad, gráficos muy buenos, gran ambientación, animaciones bestiales, buena historia...

En resumen, juego sobresaliente.

Deseando estoy de catar el nuevo Lord of the Fallen para ver qué nos han preparado.

¡Pues ya puedo dar por finalizada la saga de The Walking Dead de TellTale Games! Sin duda esta entrega era lo que la saga pedía a gritos debido a la constante bajada de calidad en sus anteriores juegos (sobretodo en "A New Frontier" y "Michonne"). Aquí por fin la saga empieza a probar cosas nuevas, como una perspectiva TPS y un control de cámara 100% libre, cambios que le sientan muy bien y se adaptan a las nuevas tendencias de juegos más modernos, ya que ahora explorar los escenarios se vuelve más agradable. Además, este cambio en perspectiva hace que los enfrentamientos tanto con humanos como sobretodo con zombies se vuelva más táctico, ya que ahora podemos movernos libremente por el escenario en situaciones de ataque (no siempre por eso), obligándonos a planear con qué enemigos acabar primero para no sufrir una emboscada. Se vuelve más emocionante que las previas situaciones QTE, que siguen estando muy presentes en el juego, pero este cambio le viene como anillo al dedo. Otro gran cambio, para mí su principal y más importante, es el pilar argumental del juego; en sus anteriores entregas siempre nos veíamos obligados a combatir contra un antagonista y salvar a nuestro grupo, los juegos previos para mi gusto han pecado de recurrir siempre al mismo pilar en cuanto a historia se refiere, pero ahora nuestro principal objetivo es AJ, el joven huérfano de quien nos hacemos cargo desde su nacimiento y lo largo de toda nuestra aventura nos vemos obligados a ejercer como su figura materna, enseñándole valores, respeto y como afrontar las diferentes situaciones emocionales con las que nos toparemos. Este Final Season se vuelve un viaje mucho más emocional a diferencia de sus juegos previos. Sigue habiendo acción y - como no - un antagonista, pero todo esto queda en segundo plano y se le da mucha más importancia a qué le enseñamos a AJ.

Los personajes de esta entrega son mucho más carismáticos y te hacen 'clic' enseguida, además que la calidad gráfica se ve mejorada, siempre con su característico estilo cell-shaded, pero ahora con mucho más detalle y mimo. Hay momentos muy bonitos a lo largo de la historia que obviamente no os estropearé, como siempre este tipo de juegos lo mejor es jugarlos sabiendo lo mínimo sobre ellos. Para mi gusto The Final Season alcanza el apogeo que me provocó su primera y memorable entrega. No le doy mejor nota por algunas incongruencias en su historia y sobretodo por un hecho hacia el final que en mi opinión no tiene sentido alguno, aunque entiendo el motivo de la dirección tomada. En general ha sido un viaje muy memorable donde me ha llevado esta adaptación de TellTale Games del comic. Una montaña rusa de emociones, infinidad de personajes muy entrañables y un final digno que cierra un hermoso círculo que recomiendo a cualquiera que le gusten las buenas historias.

Le tenía ganas, y me gustó bastante, hay cosas que funcionan muy bien y otras que no tanto..
Cosas que funcionan: a nivel narrativo es casi siempre potente. Al principio me pareció un poco absurdo lo de hacer 9 caminos distintos hasta la frontera pudiendo hacer uno un poco más largo para sentirte más como el protagonista, y más aún que las habilidades del primer adolescente se transfieran a los siguientes, pero en realidad tiene mucho sentido para lo que quiere transmitir el juego. Y ahí funciona casi siempre, de hecho empecé con una perspectiva muy individualista (mi objetivo era cruzar) para terminar con una mucho más global, a medida que avanzaba me iba importante más la huella que dejaba en los demás personajes y en Petria.
Cosas que no funcionan: una es el humor. El juego se mueve de lo épico a lo íntimo con cierta habilidad, pero es muy torpe cuando pasa de lo dramático a lo cómico. Los personajes que están para servir de alivio cómico son simplemente molestos, ridículos, y sus fragmentos son siempre los más olvidables de cada trayecto a la frontera, los que deseas que terminen de una vez para volver al tema.
Cosas que funcionan a medias: Los minijuegos. Algunos están guapos y aportan cierta variedad, otros son bastante malos y cortan el ritmo durante demasiado tiempo.

Jedi Survivor: juegazo, si te gustó la primera entrega, este es mas y mejor. OJO, porque por lo visto al inicio el juego salio super roto o algo así escuché, yo al pillarlo mas tarde, lo he podido jugar con parches ya nuevos. En general me ha parecido todo muy bueno, por ponerle alguna pega diría que los combates de sables luz me siguen pareciendo un poco cutrecillos en algunos momentos. Le ha falta un poco de "epica" para hacerlos realmente chulos y por lo demas creo que esta todo muy bien llevado. Si sois fans de star wars y os gustó la primera entrega, yo creo que esta no va a decepcionaros ni lo más mínimo.

Sea of stars: una grata sorpresa que me he llevado, un "final fantasy old school" con una estetica chulisima. Tiene mucho contenido y está muy bien variado todo, la pega que yo le pongo es que para mi gusto en el tramo final se hace mucha bola, creo que tiene demasiado relleno y perfectamente le podría sobrar un acto (que no diré por spoilers). También puede pasar que en algun momento se haga algo repetitivo, por lo que creo que para que estuviera mas redondo, yo le habría quitado facilmente algunas horas de contenido. Aun asi, un juego notable que esta en gamepass y si no me equivoco tambien en Ps Plus.

TOEM - 7 (Series X)

Podríamos decir que TOEM es una aventura fotográfica, ya que nuestro objetivo es pasar por las diferentes zonas (5 del juego base y una extra de un DLC gratuito y disponible tras pasarnos el juego), a base de hacer fotografías.

La mecánica es sencilla, cada vez que lleguemos a una nueva zona, una especie de supervisor de la zona nos indicará que para poder coger el autobús a la siguiente necesitamos conseguir un mínimo de sellos. Estos sellos se consiguen hablando con los personajes de dicha zona, y llevando fotografiando personajes, objetos o zonas que nos pedirán, fin.

El juego no tiene más, pero lo envuelve en un apartado artístico bonito, una música relajante y un mundo y personajes simpáticos. Es un juego perfecto para jugar sin prisas y relajarte.

Lo mejor:

- su apartado artístico
- la música sin destacar está bien
- es un juego relajante y relativamente divertido

Lo peor:

- la mecánica del juego se repite durante todas las zonas, excepción de alguna extra en cada una de ellas
- su sencillez puede ser una virtud o un problema, ya que todo en el lo es (la mecánica, sus gráficos, su música, su inexistente historia y dificultad)


Beacon Pines - 7 (Series X)

Juego que tenía pendiente desde casi su salida en GP pero que deje aparcado por aburrimiento, y que retome de 0 hace 3 días ya que próximamente saldrá del servicio.

En esencia Beacon Pines es una aventura conversacional, ya que durante todo el juego solo haremos dos cosas: andar de aquí para allá interactuando con objetos o personas para leer un diálogo, y escoger distintas acciones en momentos concretos.

Beacon Pines nos muestra su historia en forma de libro, donde un narrador (libro abierto en mano) nos contará la historia del pueblo de Beacon Pines y sus antropomorfos habitantes, y la de Luka, niño huérfano (aunque técnicamente no ha que su madre está desaparecida pero no confirmada como muerta) que vive con su abuela y que se verá atrapado en los misterios del pueblo y de sus difuntos padres.

La mayor virtud de Beacon Pines es presentarnos una historia en esencia infantil (la relación de Luka con su abuela y sus amigos, además del como se siente en relación a la muerte y desaparición de sus padres ríen mucho peso en la historia), pero acompañada de una historia de misterio y hasta cierto punto bastante oscuro que envuelve el pueblo de Beacon Pines y a su fábrica de fertilizantes. Además, esto se ve acompañado de un apartado artístico bonito que recuerda a los cuentos infantiles, y de unos momentos en que tenemos que elegir entre distintas acciones. Estas acciones son “palabras” que iremos consiguiendo interactuando con personas y objetos, y permitirán modificar el rumbo de la historia. La toma de decisiones se nos presenta, como digo, en forma de palabra dentro de una frase del libro, y se nos muestra tal cual, como una frase con una palabra en blanco que debemos rellenar con nuestra palabra (en forma de carta) para poder continuar.

Como digo, según nuestra elección la historia Tamara un rumbo u otro, pero en cualquier momento podremos abrir una página del libro que nos mostrará un árbol con los momentos en que hemos tomado una elección, y podremos volver a cualquiera de ellos para modificar esta.

Esto que se presenta como algo que aporta mucha Libertad al juego y forma gran parte de ma gracia del mismo tiene un problema, y es que si bien tenemos esta cierta libertad, en realidad al final el juego está totalmente guiado, ya que solo hay un final bueno o aceptable para el libro, y siempre que lleguemos a uno que no sea ese, deberemos volver atrás a uno de los puntos antes indicados para tomar otra decisión.

A mi particularmente de me ha hecho bastante bola ya que no soy de visual novela ni juegos donde el 99% del mismo sea leer, pero el juego tiene sus cosas buenas y para quien busque algo relajante y tranquilo sin complicaciones (y en total inglés) es una muy buena opción.

Lo mejor:

- su apartado artístico
- la historia está bien
- no es un juego largo (en unas 6-7 horas te lo acabas)
- la posibilidad de tomar elecciones y que tengan realmente un peso en la historia…

Lo peor:

- … aunque al final está Libertad es falsa ya que solo hay un final correcto, y si se llega a otro el propio narrador te indica que no es como debería acabar, y te manda a escoger entre los puntos de toma de decisión
- si bien la historia del pueblo no está mal, creo que la parte de Luka es extremadamente infantil (lógico, es un niño), y a mi hubo momentos en que se me hizo pesada
- volviendo a la historia, creo que en general y sobretodo la parte antes comentada tiene demasiada paja
- para quién tenga problemas con el idioma, está en completo inglés

En Under the Waves (Parallel Studio) tomamos el papel de Stan, un hombre completamente devastado que necesita la soledad y aislamiento para sobrepasar sus demonios interiores. Para ello decide recluirse en una base submarina donde tendrá que encomendar encargos rutinarios y repetitivos; arreglar esto, encontrar esto otro, explorar por aquí, etc. Las misiones son lo de menos, el principal protagonista en Under the Waves es la carga emocional, dado que es un juego donde prima la narrativa antes que el gameplay. El juego podría considerarse como una versión subacuática de Firewatch (Campo Santo Studio), ya que se parecen en mucho. Recibiremos órdenes de un superior (Tim) con quien entablaremos numerosas conversaciones por radio. La historia tiene su que, pero considero que constantemente gira sobre el mismo eje. Apenas encontraremos un arco emocional, ya que pese a que la historia sea desgarradora, se mantiene demasiado plana en todo momento, incluso llegando a resultar monótona en ocasiones. Ayuda que la duración del juego (10h aprox) no sea excesiva, manteniéndote pegado a la pantalla.

Lo mejor seguramente sea su ambientación. Considero que se defiende mejor en escenarios cerrados (instalaciones submarinas, cuevas, etc) creando una sensación de claustrofobia y perdiéndonos por sus laberínticos pasillos, ya que su mundo abierto peca de repetitivo. Destacar también su animación del agua cuando sales a la superficie (majestuosa) y la música (sobretodo las piezas más orquestrales) que ayudan a aglutinar la historia y provocar sentimientos emocionales. El gameplay se vuelve demasiado rutinario y monótono, al principio me animé a explorar para encontrar la mayoría de sus secretos, pero rápidamente pierde fuelle la cosa y preferí centrarme en la historia principal. Algo que me ha gustado mucho del juego es su potente mensaje para preservar los fondos marinos. En el juego se incluyen anécdotas de "Surfrider Foundation", una ONG real que lleva décadas luchando por mantener los océanos limpios y cuidar su flora y fauna marina. Ojalá más juegos incluyan mensajes así de positivos para hacer del planeta un lugar mejor para todos.

Under the Waves no destacará en mucho, pero lo que hace lo hace bien. Si te gustan los juegos con un mensaje potente y no quieres complicados gameplays, sin duda es un viaje submarino que disfrutarás.
