Linux mint me cierra la sesión solo

Tengo un problema con Linux Mint y es que ocasionalmente se me pone la pantalla en negro durante y segundo y me cierra la sesión, entonces pierdo todo lo que tengo abierto y tengo q loguearme de nuevo. Como se que es un problema que se puede deber a multitud de causas lo que busco en realidad es algún fichero log que me muestre o me de indicios de lo que ha pasado.


¿Sabeis si se guardan en algún sitio estos log con lo que ha ocurrido?
creo que tiene que ver con el sistema de screen saver en este caso,

deberias ir a preferencias y luego gestor de energia y en la seccion de pantalla, cambiar la opcion a nunca, con es to almenos la pantalla no se pondra en negro mientras se encuentra otra solucion.

no creo que ese sea el problema porque me pasa cuando estoy utilizando el portatil, por ejemplo escribiendo en writter, viendo alguna web, utilizando blender ...
Tu problema parece ser que tu Xorg le da un segfault y el gestor gráfico te lo vuelve a iniciar. Revisa el /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old cuando te vuelva a ocurrir, el cual contiene el registro de la sesión anterior del xorg y busca alli un backtrace o errores que hayan ocurrido, tambien revisa las ultimas lineas que suelta el comando dmesg cuando esto ocurra. Usas KDE con efectos de escritorio? gnome+compiz? ocurre cuando estás escribiendo algo?

Uso Gnome sin ningún efecto, tengo puesta una barra de AWN y una barra tint2. El archivo /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old contiene actualmente:

Por si sirve de algo el Pc es un portatil HP DV6 core I5 y una gráfica NVIDIA Geforce con cuda.
Umm, en el log no hay nada extraño.... Aunque tu bug me suena a uno de gdm que tuve hace tiempo: el bug solo ocurre una vez por reinicio? ocurre al presionar teclas? *Antes* del primer segfault verifica que las X esten corriendo en la vt7 y no en la vt2, en el /var/log/auth.log (o algún otro parecido) tienes mensajes de tipo "FAILED LOGIN (1) on '/dev/tty2' FOR 'UNKNOWN', Authentication failure"? Si no tienes esos síntomas pues no se a que puede deberse tu problema. Saludos.
