https://dragoncity17.wordpress.com/2018 ... st-gd-ide/

Gracias

First of all thank you for the topic, I saw it because some have been redirected to my site
Now I'm going to start with "erlos", first of all a nice job, in addition you managed to find some ways to fix some errors, like the 80Pins IDE ribbon or put the screws to keep the GDROM card going if I do not say anything stupid, That's right?
I saw on your TV that you did not use the last version of Dreamshell, I know it because I saw the files like "recycle.bin" or I asked "Megavolt" to remove them from the posting
In addition I created a last version of Dreamshell with all the covers and presets, as well as the very last version of Dreamshell.
You have the link in my page of compatibilites "DS RC4 Dragoncity ""Covers & Presets"" - 03/04/2018":

Now MaKinorris...you didn't remove the Pin 20...like my tutorial ..but you remove the Pin 22 :
https://dragoncity17.files.wordpress.com/2018/03/pin201.png
(I can not put the picture directly .."Lo sentimos pero aún no cumples los requisitos para poder insertar imágenes directamente, aunque si quieres puedes poner un enlace a la imagen. Más información")
And you put the IDE connector upside down, but you're on a PCB G1-ATA "Top",
which means that you have to put the IDE connector on "Top".To put it as you put it, you had to take the PCB G1-ATA "Bottom" that I created at first to have the CF card seen from above;)
But you are lucky you have removed a pin that is not really necessary, because one mass among others, so you just remove the IDE connector, this time to remove the pin 20 and put it above: )
If you want the CF above you will need the G1-ATA "Bottom" as previously said.
I will try to follow your topic, and answer questions when there are any.

Yes the problem is this adapter IDE/SATA,if you want to boot dreamshell on SATA...sometimes block (no problem in IDE or CF)
So the solution is to use SD MOD,and boot dreamshell in SD !
But now your problem if I understand, dreamcast block on SWIRL (before menu).
So this problem is a BIOS PROBLEM,need to check all solder.
Put solder all Pin again, and test again.
After your problem for the DISC,maybe the lens, clean it with alcohol, and and set the potentiometer to 900 Ohms.
It's difficult like that to help you, make video when you have a problem it's better for understand
@ChepoXX
Yes with my version of Dreamshell you can launch Shenmue 1 without worries as I said before.
dragoncity escribió:Hello,
I think it's you who sent me an email,no?
Have you a screen of the bios where there is a problem?
What is your configuration?
Normally you must have :
- Dreamshell Bios (or Cd Boot loader)
- GD-IDE
- Adaptor CF with 5V
Sometimes it's depend of the CF card, need to use Pin 1.
For the SATA Pin 1 is a big problem, and it should not be soldered, but for the CF sometimes it must be soldered.
So solder Pin 1 and the jumper beside
dragoncity escribió:Don't cut IDE cable...there is a problem "sometimes" when you cut the IDE cable in the middle..
http://www.dc-swat.ru/forum/thread-3097.html
And I repeat, some CF card (not adapter) need Pin 1,so try to solder Pin 1 and jumper beside
dragoncity escribió:No signal..no boot?
So no video in your TV if I understand?
If it's that it's not the GD-IDE,have you plug correctly the GDROM?
Can you make a video?
dragoncity escribió:Ho ok !!
Have you an other dreamcast, for put his gdrom?
For be sure the dreamcast work..
dragoncity escribió:LoL I know why !!!!
And I laugh because I made the same mistake at first!
The IDE / CF adapter is reversed, we can not do this, clearly if you check you will see that
Pins 1 and 2 for example are opposite, they are connected to Pin 39 and 40.
Maybe with this you could do it, I found better but I can not find the link.

Edit: Use this,it's better !!!

Edito;

saludos

Also, are there any differences between your GD-IDE and standard ide solder mod on the dreamcast principal motherboard?
Thanks!
