It was recently announced that the latest installment from the
Star Wars Battlefront series -
Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron - will be a PSP exclusive. Slated to be released this September, the series has a very good track record with the previous two games selling more than 10 million copies on various platforms.
The latest Star Wars game for handhelds is currently being developed by Rebellion Studios. The game focuses on the exploits of the Renegade Squadron; it's also reported to have a new storyline and multiplayer functions. Known to be composed of the toughest fighters in the
galaxy, the squadron was assembled by Han Solo himself and has previously utilized their skills on missions in Korriban, Alderaan, and Sullust.
To keep track of your greatness, they are are going to implement online leaderboards and stat pages so the rest of world can bask in your 1337ness. It really seems like the game has a little something for everyone. If Rebellion pulls this off, then we could be looking at another PSP classic.
