TGL: There has been a lot of talk about the possibly of Hideo Kojima and Konami returning to the Zone of The Enders franchise for a third game. Do you think it will ever happen?
RLB: It wouldn’t surprise me. My friends have mentioned to me that this is going to happen. I hope they call me back!

The Video Game Awards has certainly proven itself ambitious. We already know of several big reveals to be announced at the show next week, each hopefully inducing screams of glee. However, what we didn’t know is that one of the reveals won’t launch until 2013.
“How far into the future are the VGAs going? I just reviewed a piece that says “coming 2013″ at the end,” Geoff Keighley wrote on Twitter.
What’s so important that it’ll be revealed over two years prior to its release? Who does this game think they are? Final Fantasy, or something?

According to a survey that recently surfaced online, Ubisoft appears to be polling fans on the features they'd like to see in the next Assassin's Creed.
The survey, discovered by users on NeoGAF, looks to gauge player interest in possible additions like crafting, improvements to the Eagle Vision ability, online co-op, and more.
Of course, even if this thing proves to be legit, there's no guarantee that any of these features will make the cut for Assassin's Creed 3. Still makes for some interesting reading, though.
Check out the full list of proposed changes below:
Would you like to see ____ in the sequel to the ASSASSIN"S CREED: BROTHERHOOD?
1)An upgrade to the assassin's blade that increases the fluidity and speed of free-running
2) An enhanced Eagle Vision: see the patrol paths of guards, spot clues to complex navigation puzzles, detect when characters are lying during interrogations, etc.
3) An intuitive crafting tool that lets you create custom bombs from dozens of ingredients found throughout the game world
4) Tactical use of a variety of bombs suited to unique contexts and situations (smoke, poison, flash, explosive, etc.)
5) An additional objective where you and your Assassins guild fight against the Templars to gain control of a city, district by district
6) Playing as a new Assassin, in a different historical time period
7) A continuation of Ezio's story as the leader of the Assassins, set outside of Italy
8) Deeper connectivity between all the Assassin's Creed projects (eg. an action you make on the Facebook game will impact your game experience on the console; events that you read about in the comics will be related to the storyline of the videogames, etc.)
9) Online Cooperative Mode
10) Offline Cooperative Mode
11) The availability of new maps for the Multiplayer
12) A choice of additional Multiplayer characters with new skill-sets
13) Playing new Multiplayer modes
14) A deeper team-based Multiplayer experience (guilds / squads that have common objectives, new tools for clan management, etc.)
15) A customization of the Multiplayer experience (logos, avatars, objects, team names, etc.)

Were you worrying that Resistance 3 would be the only Sony title at this year’s Spike TV Video Game Awards? Well, if you were, you shouldn’t anymore! Geoff Keighley has confirmed on his Twitter account that the company will be bringing at least one additional project to the show.
Could it be Uncharted 3? Nathan Drake’s next outing has been rumored to be making an appearance since late November. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to find out, as we’re less than a week away before the VGAs take place.
Please note that before reading any more and getting your hopes up, this is stirctly a RUMOR. It’s such a big rumor in fact, that I was even thinking of not putting it up, but my contact that brought me the MGS5 story on September 18th received this from their own source. That’s the main reason why I was hesitant to put it up, because I don’t know who that person is. If a source is my own friend, I know the info can be trusted…which is why I’m stressing once more, this is just a BIG RUMOR.
Without further delay, I’ve been told that Hideo Kojima’s current “taboo” game in the works is based off a doctor in New York City that regularly performs circumcision to boys as part of his doctoral duties, but when his wife gives birth and he performs his own son’s circumcision and it goes wrong (killing his newborn baby), he becomes a mass murderer by using the list of all newborns in NYC that he’s performed operations on, and killing them at their family’s homes while they sleep.
You are a New York City detective that is on the case to stop this doctor who’s now mad and are taken through a complete psychological thriller/action-horror game of sorts, to stop the doc. It’s supposively a pretty twisted game and it has you failing on purpose multiple times in the beginning, to really get to you and strike you deep.
You’re constantly falling short (no pun intended) of catching the mad man, but begin to get better as your character advances, by solving puzzles as to which family will be struck next, when, etc. This apparantly is the “taboo” subject that Mr. Hideo Kojima spoke about his game having and this Saw-like title certainly sounds pretty bold and daring to say the least. It’s definitely something never done before in the video game industry that I can think of, so if true…wow I’m surprised (even moreso because of a script I wrote for South Park that deals with circumcision a few months ago).
Back to the Kojima Productions game, at sometime in the story, your own wife gives birth to a baby boy and certain events happen that further escalates the tension your character and you the player gets. Does it sound believable? Yes, but that doesn’t mean it’s real. Consider it a RUMOR, but know that I will be contacting Kojima Productions and Konami to see if I can get anything to confirm or deny such a title in development.
This 3rd party source that has no connection with me claims to have seen the script outline and believes it to be real…but we’ll see. If this doesn’t end up being Hideo’s next big title, then perhaps it was once considered as an idea by someone on the team, but even that can’t be confirmed at this time. What do you think of such a concept for Kojima Productions? First of all, do you think it’s real of fake? Secondly, is this “fresh enough” of a concept to be coming out of Japan? Share your thoughts and hopefully soon I’ll have some kind of confirmation/denial from an official representative.

That new Tomb Raider game from Crystal Dynamics? Well it's called 'Tomb Raider' and yes there's a boat, a beach and a babe - a stranded Lara Croft.
We get a "young and inexperienced" Lara whose only goal is to survive. Crystal say "forget everything" we know of Tomb Raider, this is her "origins story".
Square Enix have dropped a press release bomb that confirms our suspicions of poor Lara Croft getting ship wrecked on some island, all alone (sort of) and having to fend for herself.
"Forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider," said Darrell Gallagher, big boss of Crystal Dynamics. "This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other."
The upcoming issue of Game Informer will have 10 pages exposing the new Crystal Dynamic's videogame, which is available now for subscribers or in newstands December 11th. Check out the full press release below from Square Enix.

2011 looks to be a stellar year, in fact, it is packed with so many PlayStation 3 exclusives that Sony will be competing with themselves for our hard earned cash. Along with Killzone 3, Resistance 3 and possibly Uncharted 3, one of the PS3′s biggest games is Eat Sleep Play’s new Twisted Metal – but when can we expect to get our hands on the upcoming game?
Twitter fanatic, the Co Director and Co Lead Designer for Twisted Metal, David Jaffe tweeted:
Holy shot! Less than a year & our baby will be on these [store] shelves! I can’t wait AND I’m fuckin terrified!
Not only will the game be coming out before December 5th, Jaffe teased:
We’ll announce our release date soon!
With the Spike TV Video Game Awards right around the corner, it is possible that the game will be given a solid release date at the show.

EA Boss Vows to Top Call of Duty, but How?
"If I had to pick the story I'd like to play out next year is we ship a 90 [Metacritic scoring game] and they ship an 85," John Riccitiello CEO of EA told Kotaku going on say that Black Ops and Bad Company 2 both have an 88 average on Metacritic. "What I've witnessed a couple of times in the games industry is the way you unseat a market leader is you make a better game a couple of times in a row," he adds.
Seems a little obvious that making a couple good games in a row can turn the tide but is EA capable of that? Riccitiello seems to think Battlefield 3 will help start a revolution in the FPS market.
"[Battlefield 3] is being built on the second generation of Frostbite which I think is at least in my opinion is a class act for FPS. I think we're going to lift the game pretty dramatically in the first-person shooter category," the Electronic Arts CEO stated rather confidently.

Raul Ramirez, producer at Junction Point, has said talks are going on over at the studio regarding the possibility of bringing Epic Mickey to PS3 and Xbox 360 now that Move is out and Kinect is coming soon.
Speaking with TVG at TGS, Ramirex said “of course that seems to be what everybody feels now that those controls have come in,” regarding the possibility of Epic Mickey for Move or Kinect.
“There are talks going on, but… I don’t know,” he added.
Warren Spector has stated quite a few times in the past it was “possible” the game could eventually hit PS3 and Xbox 360, and once even said no one had asked him for a port yet.
He did, however, say before Move and Kinect he “probably would have said no” to a port due to the game being gesture based.
Time will tell we suppose. Maybe an eventual sequel will hit all formats.
Spike’s announced actor Neil Patrick Harris will host this weekend’s Video Game Awards.
The actor is most known for playing the role Barney in How I Met Your Mother.
This WSJ reports also states there will be 13 premieres at the show, three more then organiser Geoff Keighley had previously said.
Keighley tweeted a while ago that Thor: God of Thunder would be revealed at the show by the actor of the character in the upcoming movie, Chris Hemsworth.
The VGAs take place this Saturday. It’s going to be legen, wait for it…
BioWare’s put up a new hint for their upcoming game reveal at the Video Game Awards next week. Another 2D barcode, this time it translates to binary code, which ultimately translates to a link with a red herring fish image on the page (reproduced above). A red herring?
“Red herring is an idiomatic expression referring to a rhetorical tactic of diverting attention away from an item of significance,” reads the Wikipedia definition.
Sony Computer Entertainment Russia recently “confirmed” Mass Effect 3 on their Twitter account. Perhaps BioWare is trying to tell us their reveal isn’t the game we think it is? That being Mass Effect 3.
Have any better guesses?
The SpikeTV Video Game Awards air live on Saturday, December 11 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.
Take this one with a grain of salt. VideoGamesZone.de is claiming to have obtained a GameStop release date printout — dated December 2 — where a release date for “GTA 5” is listed.
According to the printout (reproduced below), the Rockstar game will launch on January 15, 2012. However, I don’t believe the date is what’s important — they usually change if not officially announced. What is important is the fact that Grand Theft Auto V is even on the list.
GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley recently teased a game reveal for the Video Game Awards that won’t launch until 2013. Could this be it? We’ll find out next weekend.
Singularity developer, Raven Software, is rumored to be working on a brand new James Bond title.
The rumor comes from the Bond fansite MI6, who claims that the recent approval for a bankruptcy plan by production company, MGM, has allowed the developer to go forth with a new Bond title.
The site also claims that Raven Software had another title in the works, a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. With the recent move forward on the Bond title, the Wolverine sequel will now take a back seat.
All of this is fine and dandy, but it bears saying that the most recent James Bond title from Activision, James Bond 007: Blood Stone, flopped massively. So I'm going to take all of this with a grain of salt...for now.
Total War could come to console in the future according to developer Creative Assembly.
Why stop there though? Why not look at Total War for Facebook and iPad as well?
When we asked Creative Assembly when the franchise would come to consoles, lead designer Jamie Fergusson and lead artist Kevin McDowell said they were considering all angles.
"At some point. Maybe. I don't know," said McDowell. "Somebody give Sega a bucket load of money to pay for it and we'd be alright," he laughed.
"We have actually solved the problem with controlling Total War games using a control pad anyway.
"In the past one of the artists actually coded up some experimental stuff just on his own time and was like, 'Oh that actually works really well,'" he revealed.
"Just on his own time, not officially, so I don't think we're particularly scared about that problem."
"But I think the biggest issue really is, would Total War sell on console? It's kind of difficult to answer that question without spending all that money."
"There's also, which is the better platform to push for, which is the best method?" Fergusson added.
"I mean you've talked about using joypads, we've also looked elsewhere, we're looking at everything including iPhones, online gaming as well. Just different ways of playing."
