It’s been reported that Ninja Theory, the studio who brought us Heavenly Sword for the PS3 and is currently hard at work on Enslaved for the PS360, is working on a secret project.
Is that secret project the next Devil May Cry game? Game Informer says, yes. Quoted from page 30 of the magazine’s May issue, for those without a subscription:
Loose Talk has learned that Enslaved isn’t the only game Ninja Theory is working on-we’ve heard that the Cambridge, England developer is being tapped for the next Devil May Cry.
It is not totally unexpected, however; Capcom has said that although it is shying away from Western developer for new IP, it would continue to utilize them for known franchises, which DMC certainly is.
Heavenly Sword was and still is one of the best games available for the PS3. If Ninja Theory recaptures the gameplay elements that made Heavenly Sword enjoyable with the next DMC game and expands upon it, then you can label this gamer very excited!
Looks like Microsoft can't keep the wraps on anything as we're getting word that Square/Enix is set to announce two new releases for the Xbox 360 at June's E3. One of the releases is a much anticipated RPG sequel from the experienced developers at tri-Ace. The other is a compilation disc of two hits.
While it's possible the titles on the compilation disc can change, we can say with pretty much certainty that Square/Enix is announcing two titles for the 360. The only question is about the second disc which we were under the impression Capcom held the rights to. But first the big news, which is we're finally getting a true console sequel to Valkyrie Profile. We're being told it will be shown in video form only (nothing playable) at the MS E3 opener. For fans of the series, I wouldn't freak out just yet if you don't own an Xbox 360. The series is rooted on the Playstation brand and the word "exclusive" was never used during the conversation about the game. Showing at one companies press conference likely means timed-exclusive only in this day and age.
The second game is a Breath of Fire compilation consisting of the first two SNES titles with updated graphics and cut-scenes added in. The limited information we were given leads us to believe that outside of the visuals and FMV, these are basically straight ports on a single disc. Again, the franchise started on Nintendo consoles and made the jump to the Sony brand. We can't see any reason the compilation couldn't make the leap to Wii and PS3 unless of course Microsoft pulled out the check book. It could also come down to who's getting paid since Square originally owned the North American rights to Breath of Fire I, while Capcom owns the franchise as a whole.
While we're all fanboys at heart, I think I speak for everyone when I say we hope these don't stay exclusive. Based on Star Ocean, we're likely looking at a time-exclusive for Xbox 360 since tri-Ace is experienced on both consoles. The Breath of Fire comp-disc isn't exactly going to be pushing any hardware limits if it does turn out to just be a port with visual upgrades, so the Wii should get some love too.
Keep checking GoFanboy for the latest as we start to build up steam for E3.
The current issue of Official Xbox 360 Magazine UK has teased that next months issue is set to reveal “Three Massive Exclusives” for the console, teased on a page promoting Issue 60 of the popular magazine due to go on sale on May 14th.
The separate messages for each title are as follows:
◦“The first details of the biggest game of the year,”
◦“A brand new shooter from the markers of Gears of War,”
◦“A gaming classic returns – only on Xbox 360.”
Whilst one of these has already been confirmed to be the next Call of Duty title from Treyarch, that leaves both Epic Games’ brand new shooter and the exclusive gaming classic. Would anyone like to hazard a guess?

El Segundo, CA - April 12, 2010 - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., announced today that Rush'N Attack Ex-Patriot is coming to PlayStation®Network and Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft this Fall. Developed by Vatra and based on the popular retro arcade game originally released in 1985, the 2.5D arcade action platformer will feature all-new stealth combat, a combo system and non-linear levels built on the Unreal® Engine.
In Rush'N Attack Ex-Patriot, a clandestine struggle exists between Russia and the United States for military intelligence during the shadows of the Cold War. When the CIA discovers that the Russians have found a never-before-seen material used to create devastating nuclear missiles, they form a secret branch called "Harvest" to infiltrate and investigate the Soviet weapons program. The Cold War soon ends without a bang and the operation is discontinued. Decades later, new operative Sergeant Sid Morrow, call sign "Wolf Spider", is tasked with retrieving an abandoned member of Harvest, re-evaluating the missile threat, and sabotaging it if necessary.
Rush'N Attack Ex-Patriot takes players through three massive environments of a Siberian prison complex, a bio-weapons laboratory, and a nuclear weapons base. In each location, gamers will have to complete a variety of mission and survive encounters with a variety of Russian soldiers from prison guards to elite paratrooper, snipers and more.
Players choose their own gameplay style by moving through each level loud and fast or silent and deadly. As they find themselves almost always outnumbered, players must avoid constant detection from the vigilant guards and the unblinking eyes of security cameras. Armed with a little more than a knife, the players will have to scrounge for weapons and supplies to survive as they are truly behind enemy lines.
Rush'N Attack Ex-Patriot is slated to release in Fall 2010 for the PlayStation®Network and Xbox LIVE® Arcade. For more information on the game, please visit: www.konami.com.

2K Games Announces XCOM® - Suspense and Mystery-Filled First-Person Shooter from Creators of BioShock® 2
Award-winning developers set their sights on re-imagining the suspense, tension and fear of one of gaming’s most beloved franchises only on Xbox 360 and Windows PC
2K Games announced today that XCOM®, the re-imagining of one of gaming’s most storied and beloved franchises, is currently in development at 2K Marin, the studio behind the multi-million unit selling BioShock® 2. Currently in development exclusively for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC, XCOM combines the strategic core of the groundbreaking franchise with a suspense-filled narrative and distills it into a tense and unique first-person shooter experience.
“With BioShock 2, the team at 2K Marin proved themselves as masters of first-person, suspenseful storytelling, and with XCOM they will re-imagine and expand the rich lore of this revered franchise,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Players will explore the world of XCOM from an immersive new perspective and experience firsthand the fear and tension of this gripping narrative ride.”
XCOM is the re-imagining of the classic tale of humanity’s struggle against an unknown enemy that puts players directly into the shoes of an FBI agent tasked with identifying and eliminating the growing threat. True to the roots of the franchise, players will be placed in charge of overcoming high-stake odds through risky strategic gambits coupled with heart-stopping combat experiences that pit human ingenuity – and frailty – against a foe beyond comprehension. By setting the game in a first-person perspective, players will be able to feel the tension and fear that comes with combating a faceless enemy that is violently probing and plotting its way into our world.
The filings, which date back to last summer, show that there is very little doubt that the developer is creating a reboot of the series, made by Peter Molyneux and his old stomping ground Bullfrog.
It was announced two years ago EA had signed the developer to create two games for the firm, with the first based on the Jason Bourne series and the other being an unknown title, codenamed Project Redline.
Last month, however, Starbreeze announced it had canned one of the titles, which turned out to be the Bourne title. EA said it was still looking to develop a game in the series.

The title of No More Heroes and Killer7 studio Grasshopper Manufacture's next game may be Closer, according to a recently-unearthed copyright filing.
The U.S. Copyright Office filing, as discovered by Superannuation, is for a "recored document" with the title of "Closer / by Grasshopper Manufacture, Inc." No other information is immediately evident from the filing.
It is highly likely that Closer is the game that Grasshopper is developing for EA Partners. In fact, the game's original announcement from August of 2008 came just days before the execution of this copyright.
It was revealed in 2008 that the game will be using Epic's Unreal Engine 3. Grasshopper's Goichi Suda is at an Epic event in Japan tonight, and 1UP has a journalist on the scene to report back on any announcement

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: it's about time we got a real, high-definition upgrade to one of the best fighting games ever created. From the information we have heard the game will be disc-based (no more XBLA or PSN for MvC fans) and the graphics will be seriously upgraded, running at a full 1080P. Another little hint was the fact that Marvel-employee Agent M (Ryan Penagos) was in Hawaii this past week, at the same hotel, showing off something he could not yet talk about. Oh anyone else notice the Twitter account for MvC has popped back up, making tweets almost daily. Something is about to happen with that franchise and I'm willing to guarantee this is just that announcement (throw that in with the fact that my mole is inside, learning everything they need to know on this fighting game). The only information still scarce on this game is that of the roster, we can confirm that Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm, and a few others will be back; but the team behind MvC3 have said they will be blowing fans out of the water with the sheer number of characters this game includes (on the disc). Surely the unlock-able gameplay will be back and in full force. As far as gameplay goes the Capcom team decided to stick with what we know best, 2D - that being said it is not tradition 2D fighting, think more of a cross between Street Fighter IV and the original Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (sounds epically awesome to us). Other details, screenshots, trailers, and more will be released next week once the official embargo lifts. Another rumor my mole told me was that gamers attending this year's E3 2010 conference in Los Angeles will have a chance to go hands-on with Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - it should ship later this year or early 2011 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. There are many other rumors swirling around but we think we pled our case just fine, MvC3 is coming to next-gen consoles and will be officially announced very soon (like next week).
Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2:Another major announcement coming down form the press event. Little is known about this game as of now, other than a trailer that was shown at Captivate. I wasn't a huge fan of the first game so few details on this one doesn't force a reaction one way or the other. I'm sure we will find out more about it at E3 2010 as well, stay tuned.
In regards to the prequel a magazine advertising campaign for the title reveals, “Before you play the game, watch the prequel. ‘Bright Falls’ premiering 22nd April at xbox.com/AlanWake.”
Heading over to the page in question presents us with a splash page to promote the title that also allows us to see an image that links to “Watch Bright Falls: The Series.” Whilst many may have been hoping for a demo ahead of the title’s May release date, this prequel is seemingly set to encompass a number of live-action episodes that will lead up to its anticipated launch.
As to their contents or quantity, it would seem that no details have been released – so we’ll be sure to contact Microsoft for any further information.

Confirming the rumors posted the other day, PlanetXbox360 reported that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was shown at Capcom's Captivate event in Hawaii.
There's an embargo on the details, so you won't be seeing screen shots, movies and other things until early next week, but here's the notes they were able to get together.
• Confirmed characters so far are Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm and a few others will return.
• The Marvel vs. Capcom 3 development team said they will be blowing fans out of the water with the sheer number of characters this game includes on the disc.
• This will be another 2D fighter — gameplay-wise — but will be something of a cross between the original Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 4.
• The rumored release date is late 2010 or early 2011 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, no plans right now for other systems.
• The game will run in 1080p resolution.
• It will be a disc-based release.
• Apparently the game will have unlockables again.
• Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be playable at this year's E3 which is held on June 15 - 17th.
