I had exactly the same problem too. "no video" with or without the modchip on and with or without the DVD Drive on too. So I figure the Wii was dead ...
Figuring I had nothing to loose at this point I did what someone suggested here and took the Wii completly apart. I couldn't find anything in there... solder, a loose screw, anything!! But I did notice this little board near the reset switch (... I did install a wiinja deluxe btw) and the sd card port. The board was a little loose but not a lot because it looks like it might be glued on to the mboard on the one side that faces out but not on the side that faces in. As it has a small chip that clips in to the mboard.
It turns out that when i was trying to solder point 3 for the wiinja deluxe to the reset switch, I must knocked the thing loose (I don't remember doing that though) or it may have come loose. Either way, I pushed it down again until I heard a click. Put my Wii back together and turn my Wii on. Sure enough I was back in business with a fresh new Wiinja Deluxe installed (... to "update" my WiiKey's firmware... )
Hopes this helps anyone who may have no video on their Wii too. It might not solve everyone's problem but it just might solve someone elses. I've attached a pic of the little board I was talking about. Sorry for the crappy quality!
PS--> it's much easier to take the Wii completly apart to install wire 3 on the reset switch for the wiinja deluxe. I almost burnt my reset switch.
