It works, outputs the right resolutions in good quality, adapter is well built.
Needs a microUSB power source which isn't included, and since the original Xbox doesn't have a USB port, it has to eat up an outlet socket or a spot on the surge protector.
Unfortunately, also adds a ton of input lag. My TV's response time is a little over 13ms alone which (according to a very popular TV reviewing website) is in the top 5 fastest of TVs out in the last 2-3 years and with this adapter, everything is pretty much unplayable. Based on experience playing a lot of rhythm games, I would guess that this adapter added about 100ms of input lag, which is god awful. Any game that requires a timed button press requires you to press a split second earlier, racing game steering inputs are delayed, etc. I wish I remembered that I had Stepmania on this Xbox before returning the adapter, I could've ran the calibration to determine the exact response time. Anywho, I'd stick with an analog output (component or VGA) for the Xbox. It can't output a digital signal, and any converter out there is going to cause some kind of input lag.
Edit: To clarify (as other reviews mention no noticeable input lag), I generally game on a 1ms monitor and the difference to me between my 1ms monitor and my 13ms TV is night and day, though the 13ms TV is still totally playable, even in competitive FPS. To most people who have done all of their gaming on modern (non-CRT) TVs and none on a fast monitor, input lag is generally unnoticeable until about the 20-40ms range. I'm pretty surprised that other reviews actually mentioned the lack of input lag with this converter. Try playing any game that moves fast and needs quick timed inputs (any FPS, any Tony Hawk game, Ninja Gaiden, etc.) and you'll realize you suck at the game. Except, you don't. Your controls are just delayed by a fraction of a second, which is enough to lose the double sword lunge in Halo, or not ollie off a ramp in Tony Hawk, or get destroyed by literally anything in Ninja Gaiden.
