Si, el modo debug SOLO funciona en los Hitachi, con los Samsung hay que parchearlo otra vez para que siempre que queramos usarlo como unidad lectora sea reconocida por windows.
Un saludo.

This adapter supplies power to your Hitachi or Toshiba-Samsung ODD (Optical Disc Drive) from your PC so you can connect direct to Sata without any fuss. It also has an eject switch and a debug (modeb) switch. Currently Debug (modeb) is only supported by the Hitachi drives**
**Debug (modeb) explained - This is a function where the drive switches itself into a state where it can be recognized in Windows - and of course few other functions too (as demonstrated by the Xtreme release).
Another Update: Found a way to have debug (modeb) working on Hitachi drives without having to desolder anything from the drive, so good news. Debug mode doesn't work with Toshiba-Samsung Drives as yet - you simply have to flash the Xtreme 0800 Firmware.
