Se veia venir, los "amigos" de G6 lo han vuelto a hacer, han creado un region check para sus g6lite, NO es posible actualizar un G6LITE con los nuevos firmwares.
Ya he enviado un email para cancelar mi reserva. arghhhh!!!
update1: según dicen las unidades de prueba si pueden actualizar al nuevo fw, pero las nuevas remesas tienen el bloqueo.
the loader with the 4.0b is the same as in the 4.0a so no better results for me, no english 4.0a loader...
Now, I just want to bring something up.
I believe ALL the G6 Lites being shipped now are the Chinese versions. I myself recieved a Chinese version. The thing is, the version firmware that was preloaded and on the CD that came with the G6 is version 4.0 which is almost the latest other than the small 4.0a revision that came out after. The thing is, the firmware that ships on the CD and the unit have an option in the menu to switch to English and Chinese languages, so I use English.
The only problem is, when I do a firmware upgrade with the English 4.0a firmware, when booting it will say "Please use 'english' firmware!" or something similar to that message and will have an OK box and then will just give a black screen and won't boot. Soooo, I installed the Chinese version of the 4.0a, and it booted into the game loader, BUT, it didn't have the option in the menu to use English, so it is Chinese only.
So this is the lowdown: it seems the CD and G6 unit is flashed with a dual English/Chinese firmware, but it is slightly outdated, and if you try to put on the English 4.0a it says to install an English version firmware which doesn't make sense and it won't boot! If you install the Chinese 4.0a it works, but it is Chinese only.
