Cuidado con la nueva versión del DVD REGION X
Texto procedente de un foro britanico:
I just got dvd regionX, the one without the dongle.
I understood that it'd just store stuff in my memory card, which is in slot1.
Well anyway, booted from cd, chose region 1. put dvd in and watched film. lovely.
but now when i goto the browser and view my memory card it says its empty??
however when i load tekken all my settings and characters are there, but GT3 says 'error' when loading?? not sure about the other games yet.
odd?? anyone else had this?
anyone know how i can get my stuff back, or am i just gonna have to get another memory card to use for games and swap them whenever i want to watch region1 dvds?

Just to confirm, I have lost all my data. I suspect that tekken still working is a fluke.
ssx and gt3 and other games just complain about a read error when accessing the memory card.
Also I have a ps2-30003, uk pal, dvdid and dvdver both 1.20E, standard sony 8mb memory card in slot 1.
Do you know if there is anyway that I could wipe a memory card? At the moment it looks as though it's just getting confused with whats on there. Can I wipe it? At least I know where I am then

Same for me:
PS2-30004
DVD-ID 1.20E
French
All data on my MC were erased and the browser shows it as unformatted...

I'm seeing the same problem with my new PS2.
Model: SCPH-35003 GT
DVD-ID: 1.30E
Standard 8Mb Sony Memory card.
For me, this is easily reproducible.
1) Run up a game that saves to the memory card.
2) Use browser to confirm that there is data on the card.
3) Boot DVD-RegionX.
4) Remove DVD-RegionX from drive and reset.
If you now look at the memory card in the browser, then it shows as unformatted, and all data is lost.
I am using the new version of DVD-RegionX that doesn't come with the dongle.
Apart from the fact that I am losing all my save games when I run the disk, it also means that I can't use the new 2.10 DVD software that came with my Sony DVD Remote. If I load the new DVD Player to the memory card, then DVD-RegionX erases it whenever I boot it.
I reported this problem to Datel tech. support via telephone, but the person I spoke to was unable to help. I was promised a callback after they had spoken to someone else, but I am still waiting to hear from them.
Whilst DVD-RegionX looks like a really useful product, it's useless if it keeps wiping the memory card. I know that other people are not seeing this problem, so I am either doing something wrong (which I doubt), or there is something different about my PS2.
Does anyone out there have a solution for this?
Thanks,
Andy
