Buenas, hoy he iniciado beryl en xubuntu como siempre, lo que pasa esque me da el siguiente error así de sopeton; tampoco me funciona con aiglx, esta es la linea de error:
edu@edu-desktop:~$ beryl & [1] 5134 edu@edu-desktop:~$ XGL Present beryl: Another window manager is already running on screen: 0 beryl: No manageable screens found on display :1.0
Haz un "ps aux |grep beryl " cargate el proceso y ejecutalo de nuevo con "beryl-manager" , si te fallase borra en tu home el .beryl/ y .beryl-managerrc , a mi me ha funcionado.

He probado lo que has dicho, pero ahora me sale esto:
edu@edu-desktop:~$ beryl & [1] 6598 edu@edu-desktop:~$ XGL Absent, checking for NVIDIA Nvidia Absent, assuming AIGLX beryl: Another window manager is already running on screen: 0 beryl: No manageable screens found on display :0.0
