Due to overwhelming interest in the program running on 2.0, the PSPAdvance Full Version Release has been delayed for 7 days to fulfill that request. Thank you for all your pre-orders.
From PSPUpdates 11-09-05: I just got off the phone with PSPAdvance, and they gave me an update on the status of their upcoming media application. As we previously reported, PSPAdvance is a Media Player, Content Download System and Interactive Community application for PSP. PSPAdvance is a revolutionary application that enables users to maximize the device''s potential without having to convert files or remain hostage to Sony''s expensive software and restrictive firmware updates.
There are some exciting new developments in the application, and an overwhelming number of downloads of the free trial beta version, so many in fact that PSPAdvance had to move to a much larger webhost! The team has been hard at work adding a whole slew of new features and functionality, fixing bugs, and getting their hosting situated and ready for the full version release.
I got permission from the team to actually tell a little about how the application works. It comes as an application for your PC which is a media manager on your desktop for PSP media. It also operates on your PSP and interacts with the desktop application. You can download, share, manage, and play all forms of media (yes even divx and xvid movies). The team is finishing up some very exciting WiFi capabilities, increasing movie playback framerate significantly, as well as a SLEW of other features to be announced later. It is essentially WinAmp, iTunes, Kazaa, webcam chat, IRC, visualisations engine all in one.
PSPAdvance is, and will be SO much more than all that though, I have played with it myself and am blown away. I only wish they would let me tell all!! With all the new developments though, the team wants to make sure that the new features and functionality are implemented properly before launch. So they are going to set back the release date of the full version by 1 week. This will give them time to make sure everything is perfect. Better a complete product late than a buggy/incomplete application early, no?
