In other site NEWS, we'd like to report that testing was completed
successfully a few weeks back on the PS2 Console ID Changer utility.
For those wondering, it's based on a slightly different calculation than we originally suspected... more specifics to come in future updates.
One thing we can let visitors know for sure, is that it works 100% to get on-line, for example, with a PAL PS2 connecting to a USA game server without any more region errors! Needless to say, the utility also allows previously 'banned' PS2 consoles to work perfectly on-line again.
It's important to NOTE that when using the Console ID Changer
you must re-set up your Network Adaptor Configuration File after you change the IDs... or it won't work until you do. Even more important, end-users should NOTE that (as with ALL hardware flashing) each time you modify the IDs you run the risk of corrupting data which could, in the event of a power outage (for example), render your PS2 useless for on-line play.
Finally, there is NO ETA for the utility's release yet unfortunately.
Perhaps someone else will release their own soon, but for now all we can suggest to end-users is to contact your favorite PS2 mod-chip and accessory shop and suggest they SPONSOR US to assist paying those involved in the related work behind the scene to release this cool app!
