Sony confirms 2.0 TIFF exploit as "security threat," to patch
Expect a new version of PSP firmware in the near future, and don't expect the TIFF image exploit to work anymore either. Following the PSPupdates article, Secunia, a software security team, has confirmed hackers may be able to exploit the buffer overflow and gain access to your system software. I know you're quaking in fear.
Sony's response? "This won't happen with normal use, but we have confirmed that under special circumstances, the security hole can be exploited." They are reportedly currently working on a fix for the hole, to be included in the next PSP firmware update.
