Hacer funcionar Asus ZenDisk en Linux

Buenas, pues lo primero decir que no sabía si poner esto aquí o en el subforo de hardware.

Resulta que por comprar un portátil Asus, te daban un código descuento para adquirir un disco duro externo:

Muy bonito y por un €.

Bueno, pues hoy llegó y para mi sorpresa, al conectarlo en Linux mint, lo único que se muestra es una unidad de CD con una capacidad de 50 MB y llena de programas de Asus. ¬_¬


En cambio, si lo conectas en Windows, te reconoce dos particiones, una "normal" donde puedo copiar cosas y la CD que comenté antes.

El caso es que googleando no he encontrado nada más que gente quejándose de esto mismo, y al final recurro aquí para ver si teneis alguna idea.

No, es un disco duro portátil? prueba con el programa kdepartitionmanager y mira en que formato esta si esta en ntfs. A lo mejor te falta el paquete ntfs-config, si no tienes datos en el disco duro formatealo en ext4 que es mejor que el ntfs a no ser que lo uses en windows.

Sí, es un disco USB 3 (No creo que el ser 3 afecte) y linux no reconoce el disco

Y en el dolphin solo sale el falso CD.
pon en la terminal sudo fdisk -l a ver que dice
Edito cuantos disco duros tiene tu pc? por que en la imagen veo dos uno de 1,82TB en dos particiones, y luego uno a parte de 465G

Solo te salen 2 disco duros, as probado conectarlo a un usb 2.0?
Sí, lo he conectado a 2.0, 3.0 e incluso con dos cables.

Y nada, esto es rarísimo.
Y sé que defectuosos no está porque hay gente que se queja de lo mismo.
Pues a ver si alguien que sepa más que yo ando perdido con usb3.
Como curiosidad decir que la BIOS del portátil sí me lo detecta.
1.- Arranca con el bicho sin enchufar.
2.- Abre terminal.
3.- Ejecuta 'dmesg'.
4.- Conecta el bicho.
5.- Ejecuta 'dmesg' otra vez, y copy/pastea aqui todo el texto nuevo que ha aparecido desde que lo ejecutaste en el punto 3.

Por lo visto me debo explicar muy mal. En mi primer post solo he pedido esto:

Por lo que se ve ahi, la interfaz usb del aparato solo ofrece el fake CD. Para que active la otra parte quiza haga falta un driver, o usar algo tipo usb_modeswitch.
usb_modeswitch es normalmente usado para adaptadores 3G por USB, pero podria valer para cambiarle el modo a esto.
