A proud Mushroomb & Kingpin release…
Maximum Overload v1.2
A minor update that fixes scroll offset on a back ground layer – oops!
PC application updated. Enables extra control over patching to provide enhanced
compatibility.
Check disable turbo load to use less memory. May fix some games at the expense of
access speed.
Check disable save to help run some newer games that require a new eeprom patch. A
donor DS cartridge must be inserted (after removing Max Media Player!) Kingpin and
myself are currently looking into providing proper support. Keep them peeled.

Maximum Overload v1.1
Small update that fixes an execute problem with a number of games.

Maximum Overload v1.0
MMVI
Max Overload lets you play a NDS ROM (xxx.NDS) using Max Media Player from
Datel. The ROM file must be an ordinary (not patched) game image. Using the PC
application (Max Overload patcher) open the ROM file and a patch file will be
exported with the same file name but the NDS extension will be replaced with PAT.
Max Overload relies on the extension types NDS which is the only file type
displayed. The game selected by the user is load into memory and then the patch file
is applied so the game will access the HDD / CF instead of the DS cartridge. Easy!
Saves are written to a file with the extension SAV. If the file does not already exist a
file is automatically created 0x100000 in size, which should be enough for all games.
If not just put your own SAV file into the same folder as the ROM and patch file and
with the same file name.
Both NDS and SAV files need to use sequential clusters (no fragmentation). Max
Overload will create a new continuous file if space exists and then delete the old file
and rename the newly created file. This can take some time so be patient, but it only
needs to be done once.
Some games have problems due to the slower access speed of the HDD. My
recommendation would be to replace the HDD with a compact flash, if you are going
to use this mainly for playing games. Just unscrew both screws, pull off HDD and
carefully push on CF. You can also rename the “max overload.nds” to “bootme.nds”
so that Max Overload is run automatically. Nice folk at Datel.
Controls are simple, up and down and start to run the game currently selected.
New versions will be released fixing any compatibility issues so if you have a game
that doesn’t work correctly keep looking for updates.
Enjoy…
Mushroomb.
