hdtv for now???

Why is everyone onterested in spending a lot of money on an hdtv ready tv set? The higher resolution I came across was 1366x768 wich corresponds to 720i.
But next generation consoles will output 1080i/p, wich corresponds to a resolution of 1920x1200...
IMO, its preferable to wait for tv sets that can solve such resolution!!
I´m sure I´ll be waiting untill then, and meanwhile playing on my CRT Sony 32" with a good rgb scart cable.
Son como máximo 1366x768 pero si que son progresivos, así que yo creo que si merece la pena un panel TFT o PLASMA (1280x720 como el Pionner de 50") para tener HDTV :D
Kooljitsu you're right but it is also true that the 720p resolution is 3 times higher than the one of a standard television and that's an important difference and for me is enough to by a LCD which supports 1366*768.

In my case I am waiting for a TV able to support 1080i but at present this kind of tvs cost approx. 6.000-7.000 €uros.

At the end of the day we are talking about personal likes and decissions. If you have the money... why not?
