Fans of the hugely popular anime adaptation of "Attack on Titan" would be thrilled to know that the continuation of the saga will premiere early next year.
According to Yibada, the second season of the "Attack on Titan" anime series has been slated for a February premiere date. It will air in Japan via Japan Television, and global fans can also watch it online. However, there is still no specific date for the airing itself, but reportedly, the second season premiere will be close to the launch of a new "Attack on Titan" game.
Meanwhile, the industry follower also noted that while fans are anxiously waiting for the second season to premiere, some of them might get a bit disappointed with how the anime adaptation will go. Reportedly, the second season of "Attack on Titan" will only loosely follow the original manga in terms of plots and characters.
While the original manga still continues, the anime adaptation may end after the second season. Although the second season will still continue the ongoing saga of conflicts between human and Titans, the upcoming season could be the last in the series. According to VCPost, one of the deviations of the anime from the manga is that season 2 may already see the death of one of the main characters, Eren Yeager. Apparently, Eren will battle against Captain Smith and will receive life-threatening injuries that may possibly lead to his death.
These two deaths will allegedly draw the anime series to a close.
Meanwhile, if the anime and manga will intersect in plot, it will be the death of Levi Ackerman. Crossmap listed Ackerman's death as one of the spoilers for the manga, possibly occurring in Chapter 73. Levi will reportedly die while trying to save the members of his squad – Armin Arlert, Eren Yeager, and Mikasa Ackerman.
'Attack on Titan' or 'Shingeki no Kyojin' is very successful manga/ anime in Japan. What made it more interesting is the fact that Weekly Shonen Jump actually asked Hajime Isayama to do some changes on the 'Attack on Titan' manga before he can actually be accepted in the infamous manga publisher. Needless to say, Isayama didn't oblige, and aren't we all just glad for it.
Now, 'Attack on Titan' is so big in Japan and in the western world that you can buy its merchandise anywhere. The franchise is so big that they needed to delay the series 3 years because of the overwhelming response. Now that 'Attack on Titan Season 1' is finished fans are just anticipating what will happen to Eren, Armin, Mikasa, and Levi; now that they are all together in the Survey Corps.
Reason for the such a delay on the upcoming Attack on Titan Season 2 is because Hajime Isayama and Tetsuro Araki has an agreement that the manga version should at least be 4-arcs ahead of the series.
Top 12 Spoilers and Rumors for Attack on Titan Season 21. Kawakubo Shintaro spoke with Antenna to say that the manga is 60% finished. So it seems like Attack on Titan only has a total of 27 volumes left.
2. 'Attack on Titan Season 1' has already covered the first 34 chapters of the manga which covers a total of 4 story arcs including; "The Fall of Shiganshina," "104th Trainees Squad," "Battle of Trost District" and "The Female Titan."
3. So far the manga is only 2 story arcs ahead of the 'Attack on Titan Season 1' so obviously Director Tetsuro Araki would have to wait a bit longer for a complete 'Attack on Titan Season 2'.
4. The storyline for 'Attack on Titan Season 2' will follow the story of the 104th Trainees Squad fight against the Titans that have penetrated the Wall Rose. It will also follow the story of overthrowing the king because of his corruption. 'The Uprising' will be led by Captain Erwin Smith. Needless to say the 'king' is actually a fake.
5. The fact is; the Reiss family is the real royal family of the kingdom. Another shocker is the fact that they can also turn themselves into Titan.
6. Kevin Ackerman (Levi's Uncle) will try to eat (whilst he's in his Titan form) Eren Yaeger in order to get the Coordinate-- in case you are wondering, the Coordinate (according to Attack on Titan Wiki) is an ability that is most recognizable for allowing the user to control Titans. It is currently in the possesion of Eren Yeager.
Needless to say, Kevin Ackerman will spit out Eren Yaeger finding out that you need to be a Reiss in order to get the Coordinate.
7. Attack on Titan Season 2 will have the presence of a 'ape-like' titan in 'Attack on Titan Season 2'-- geez, as if a normal titan is not enough. To add to the turmoil, this ape-like titan can speak. Yes people, another intelligent titan.
8. The upcoming season will also unveil the true identity of the 'Colossal Titan' and the 'Armored Titan' which turns out to be Bertolt Hoover and Reiner Braun.
9. The upcoming 'Attack on Titan Season 2' will also have a 'Clash of Titans' story arc which will unveil the true identity of lovers Ymir and Krista Lenz. And yes Ymir is also a titan roaming around the wall for 60 years before coming back to her human form; only after eating Marcel a friend of Reiner Braun, Bertolt, and Annie.
10. It is also revealed that Lenz is a Historia Reiss, daughter of Rod Reiss, who is the rightful successor of the power of the Coordinate.
11. But the biggest spoiler of them all is the death of Levi Ackerman. Manga Helpers is filled with spoilers for the upcoming 'Attack on Titan Season 2'. According to PIXISSUUU, the upcoming chapter (chapter 73) will focus on Levi's death. The user pointed out the calm before the storm in chapter 72, and how Levi will try to save then new members of his squad the Shiganshina trio; Eren Yaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert.
12. Erwin Smith will lose an arm in the Season 2 and will leave the squad.

Yibada's recent report states that the premier date of the "Attack on Titan" season 2 has already been confirmed. It has been noted that the schedule of release of the anime series will be the same month that the "AoT" game will also be launched.
Fans of the "Attack on Titan" have read several spoilers of the 2nd season. Rumor has it that this will be the last season of the anime series. According to several reports, the story of season 2 will revolve on the 104 trainees squad.
Other spoilers also contained the death of Ere Yaeger. It has been predicted that he would not be able to survive in a fight involving Captain Smith.
According to Cross Map, the anime series of "Attack on Titan" is not needfully loyal to its original manga version written by Hajime Isayama. In the TV animation, it has been rumored that a main character will really die in the second season. This might have come out from the storyline of the manga, but some fans have also predicted that this death has to happen.
Cross Map has gleaned spoilers from the Manga Helper site, stating that chapter 73 of "Attack on Titan" manga series will center on the death of Levi. One member of the site said that "will try to save then new members of his squad the Shiganshina trio; Eren Yaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert."
Other spoilers of "Attack on Titan" season 2 reveal about Ymir, who has been a titan for 60 years and has been wandering aroundthe wall. She has gotten back to her human form when she has eaten "Marcel a friend of Reiner Braun, Bertolt, and Annie."

The second season of the highly-anticipated anime, "Attack on Titan," has been definitively delayed, as series director, Tetsuro Araki and manga creator, Hajime Isayama has decided to forego production of the second season unless the manga is four story arcs ahead.
With only two full arcs complete in the manga since the first season ended, fans of the anime action-thriller are set to do a lot more waiting than expected. Then again, with the director and the creator's decision, fans could at least rest assured that the next season would be comparable in quality and depth as the critically-acclaimed first season.
Considering that the second season of "Attack on Titan" is set to follow the events of the manga very closely, there is a very likely chance that the second season will open with a bang.
In fact, with the events of the manga in mind, the first arc of the second season might very well be the most intense arc of the "Attack on Titan" anime so far. After the brutal battle between Eren's Rogue Titan and Annie's Female Titan within Wall Sina, the next arc is the aptly named "Clash of Titans" story.
"Attack on Titan" fans will have to wait further as Haijime Isayama, "Attack on Titan" manga creator, and Tetsuro Araki, "AOT" series director, has agreed to cease the production of season 2. Isayama and Araki had an agreement that the manga, also known as "Shingeki No Kyojin," should be ahead for 4 story arcs before season 2 begins. The manga is currently 2 story arcs ahead.
It was necessary for the management to push the deadline in order for "Attack on Titan" Season 2 to stick with the original story. Araki, the director of the series, may start "Attack on Titan" season 2 on schedule, but the quality of the series will be affected because filler episodes will definitely be inserted since the series is based on the manga of Isayama.
Oh, Attack on Titan season 2: A long time we have waited for you. And now we’re going to wait for a while longer! That’s because, as reported by Moviepilot, Attack on Titan season 2 has now been delayed to give the manga a chance to get farther ahead. I thought we were past this, but there it is. The show adheres closely to the manga, so we’re going to have to wait even longer. Again. At least we got a trailer.
A full two years ago, it became clear that Attack on Titan season 2 wasn’t going to be coming out anytime soon. That was right when the show first started getting really popular in the United States—spoiler alert, it popped up on Netflix. It was a disappointment way back then that the show’s return was so far off. It’s even more of a disappointment now.
Moviepilot ferreted out the news about the Attack on Titan season 2 delay, and although it doesn’t cite any sources, we have pretty good evidence that their report is true. That’s because the official Facebook page for Attack on Titan reposted the report, headlined “Some unfortunate news for season 2.” So that means we have to face it: The Attack on Titan season 2 release date really has been delayed. As the site reports, the anime team wants the manga to be four story arcs ahead of the show. Right now, it’s only two. So we’re going to be waiting a while, but at least we have a vague idea of the timeline.
The Attack on Titan season 2 release date was and has always been a little nebulous, in part because the anime team was waiting for the manga to get ahead, in part because they were working on other projects. The second season wasn’t even in production, as far as we know, as of October 2014. But once the manga ends, then the show can move forward with its second and maybe even final season. When will that be? Certainly not in 2016. The manga was originally expected to end in 2017, and we haven’t heard much otherwise since then… so the future isn’t all that far off.
But for now, the wait for Attack on Titan season 2 continues… two more story arcs, and then we’re good to go. But it’s worth it. The show won’t finish before the manga. That’s what happened to Game of Thrones, to all of our regret. At least we can play the Attack on Titan games.
