A message from Charles Cecil:
Dear Backers,
I wanted to take the opportunity to update you on the status of the physical editions and explain the delays.
I believe that when someone gets a physical version of a game, it should be substantially complete and play well - fixing any issues identified in the digital version.
We are very grateful for all the feedback that we received after publishing the digital version which allowed us to narrow down and fix bugs that were hard to replicate, and gave us invaluable input on your experience of the game. We have since fixed many bugs and made enhancements which have been released as patches.
Those following our updates will have read that we went back to the original low quality source recordings, and reprocessed all the speech lines, using a mixture of new methods and settings best suited to language and character performance. After your feedback, and with careful guidance from native speakers, we manually reviewed the speech for each character and their different recording sessions and tried to improve the quality to achieve a consistent sound across all ten thousand dialogue lines per language.
It was really important to me that the Backer Editions would include these big fixes and updates to the speech, so I made the decision to hold the mastering of all physical versions until all these updates were in place. This has substantially delayed our ability to start manufacturing the Collector's Edition boxes, for which I sincerely apologise. However this does mean that the game you receive will include all these enhancements, and I hope that you will feel that it has been worth the wait.
The good news is that we are currently submitting the master console versions. Once they are approved, we will be in a much better position to plan completion of the manufacturing and delivery of the Collector’s Edition boxes with Red Art Games.
In the meantime, we've been moving forward with the goodies to go into the box. We are really keen to share and highlight each individual item in their dedicated updates, but for now here is a little sneak peek. Let us know what questions you have about your Collector’s Edition Box items, and we’ll try to include as many details as we can!
