THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR WHEN BUYING THIS PRODUCT:-
1) Only supports 32-bit operating systems even though it has a 64-bit Atom Processor!2) Windows 8.1 has been setup with a small NTFS partition size 21.93GB (not 32GB). INTEL have set the recovery partition to a whooping 6.35GB.
3) The pre-installed Windows 8.1 from INTEL runs rather slow when using Windows.
4) Microsoft Windows 8.1 with Bing does not support Microsoft Remote Desktop! Even when you upgrade to Windows 10 Home!
5) The WIFI signal never reaches %100 even though it's sitting next to the DSL router!
6) It's not possible to upgrade to Windows 10 directly from the Microsoft website, because it needs more disk space. However you can use their procedure guide by downloading Windows 10 ISO on to a USB Stick and upgrading upon booting. But since you only have one USB port you need to buy a USB hub in order to use the Keyboard and USB stick together for the upgrade! (So additional costs are already adding up!)
7) Even after the Windows 10 upgrade you still lost a lot of space due to the recovery partition set by INTEL and a fresh install of Windows 10 is impossible without losing your original license key!
WORKAROUND TO THE OVER SIZED RECOVERY PARTITION:-
The Hannspree PC Stick has identical hardware to the INTEL Compute Stick. Hannspree have optimized the Windows 8.1 install to work properly and they only set the recovery partition to 500MB and NOT the whooping 6.35GB! You can download their USB Flash Disk Image which sets up the partitions correctly and restores the Windows 8.1 image to INTEL Compute Stick. If you don't have a USB Hub, you can simply edit the script USB_Preloader.cmd in notpad and comment out the prompts.
Gracias!
