Earlier this week, Microsoft announced plans to make several pieces of content available for free over Xbox Live as part of its free Xbox Live Gold membership week. The trial begins at the stroke of midnight on Monday, May 8, and ends one minute before midnight on Sunday, May 14.
Though many games will be featured as part of the promotion, exactly what form they will be featured in (be it demo, trailer, or otherwise) has not been finalized. However, gamers won't have to wait to see what's in store for Atari's Test Drive Unlimited, as those details were released today.
An exclusive demo of the "massively open online racing game" will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace throughout the course of the free Xbox Live period.
The demo will feature 40 miles of roads set on the island of Oahu and can be played against human or computer-controlled opponents. Points on the open road can be designated as starting and finish lines, and a Lamborghini dealership will be open to browse through. Three cars will be in the demo's garage, including the Ford Shelby GT500, the Lotus Exige, and the Lamborghini Gallardo.
Test Drive Unlimited for the Xbox 360 has not yet been rated and will retail for $59.99. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's recent preview.
