Yoshihiro Maruyama became familiar to gamers as the face of Xbox Japan, the counterpart to J Allard in North America; just as a recent re-organization moved J Allard and other key Xbox executives, Maruyama has now been moved to a "strategic position" in Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division (known as E&D).
Succeeding him will be Takashi Sensui, formerly director of the marketing department and game content group for Xbox Japan. He has worked closely with Maruyama for the Xbox 360 launch.
Sensui is expected to lead Xbox 360, which is off to a rocky start in Japan. But as more games become available on the system, Sensui expressed confidence that adoption of the system will grow. Indeed, that will be his primary responsibility.
