I recently aquired a trinity with a 1.2 bga which dual boots great. I tracked down and found a squirt programmer since the guy did not have it.
Now what are the steps if i ever need to program stock nand. Obviously secondary nand is just updated via autogg and FSD. Im asking because if i ever get banned on the retail side (unlikely) id like to be able to flash a new KV.
Usuario2:
If your retail NAND gets banned it's banned forever, there is no KV swapping on a Slim console... The only way to keep your Retail side safe for sure is to put a donor KV on the second nand so it never has a chance to accidentally try and connect with your retail nand on the RGH, if you use a donor it won't matter if you accidentally try connecting and get it banned, because it wouldn't be your KV...
To answer your question, you hold the sync button then shut down the console WITH SYNC HELD and it will be on the retail nand to program it.
Usuario1:
Thank you for not only teaching me something but also answering my question. I was always under the impression you could swap a kV on retail nand by patching your nand with it.
Usuario2:
No because they actually have a hash of the KV stored and it gets checked, meaning even knowing the encryption key (cpu key) doesn't help because the data will be changed ( hash fail)...
It only works on Xenons because they didn't have the hash check all HDMI consoles and of course SLims have that check ... NOW You can patch the RGH Nand with a donor KV, that works because the hash check is removed, and this has the same effect.
