No consigo ajustar mi monitor

Acabo de recordar una cosa.La primera distro q use fue Kanoppix live cd 4.0 y el problema q tengo con el monitor no ocurria.lo he vuelto a poner(el live cd)y me he fijado en esto:

Tarjeta grafica.-Ati radeon Qy usando servidor xfree86(vesa).
Monitor IQT0175 H:28.0-96.0Khz V:50.0-75.0hz
Usando modos "1280x1024" "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"

Ayuda esto en algo a mi problema¿?

Jur, no me habré peleado yo con mi monitor en linux ni na xD

¿Que distribucion usas? Prueba a poner el contenido del archivo XF86Config para ayudarte, puesto que desde ahí le dices a Linux la resolución y modos gráficos que soporta tu monitor.

Por cierto, yo no pondría 1280x1024 a 60Hz en el monitor para trabajar normalmente, al menos pondría una resolución que aun siendo inferior trabajase a por lo menos 75Hz.

Después de mirar parece que lo tienes bien ya que tu monitor tiene las siguientes caract de barrido de pantalla

31kHz ~ 80 kHz
Vertical 56 ~ 75 Hz

Q es lo q falla¿?
Lo q mas me quema es k el kanoppix me configure bien el monitor.
Debaria poder hacerlo casi q por huevos en suse.

Mira a ver la sección Monitor en knoppix, igual tienes mal los modelines en el suse o algo.

Prueba a copiar el fichero que te crea knoppix en tu distro instalada a ver que tal, eso si haz una copia del fichero antes de sobreescribirlo.

Voy a ver si puedo ver lo del knoppix.
Otra cosa,durante la instalacion de suse todo perfecto,el monitor no me fallaba.

Copie mi xorg.conf de knoppix y sobreescribi el de mi distribucion(ahora tengo Kubuntu) y nada,todo igual.
Esq en "teoria" todo esta bien(o eso creo).
Me reconoce tanto la tarjeta como el monitor,no se q hacer,estoy desesperaooo

Acaso voy a tener q cambiar de grafica o el tft para q me rule el linux¿?¿?Porq parece ser la unica solucion...
