Noticias GCOS, Wiikey team y update firm Wiikey

Los últimos dias la web del team Wiikey está caída, pero parece que solo es un problema del proveedor. Así lo demuestra el mensaje que da el creador de GCOS, emu_kidid.
Además de eso, también comenta que sacará una nueva versión de GCOS que sopoortará DVD9 (solo en Wiis con Wiikey), reset desde el juego, y algunos arreglillos más.

I've just got done talking with Emu_Kidid the author of the very popular GCOS software that originally was a BIOS replacement for the Nintendo GameCube and has migrated to the Nintendo Wii. GCOS can be utilized for various purposes and one of it's popular features is the ability to boot MultiGame Discs. These discs can contain two or more GameCube games saving you blank discs.

Emu_Kidid gave me a list of features that will be included in the next version of GCOS. It includes an In Game Reset (IGR) feature, Region Fixes and most noteworthy Dual Layer (DVD9) Disc Support. The DVD9 Support comes as a treat to Wiikey owners as you'll be required to own one of these chips to take advantage of the feature. Additionally, you'll need to update your Wiikey with the latest software which is scheduled to hit soon. Looks like this release sheds some light on the rumors circulating about the Wiikey site being down.

* Dual Layer Support (Wiikey Only)
* Now list more than 3 games (7 or 8 per screen)
* Goes straight to games list - no reset unless needed
* Self bootable discs are not explored, but bootable now.
* IGR via eject button (back to the first thing on the DVD)
* Press A or Start to select a game
* Long game names are now cut
* Region fixes yet again
* Videomode in menu is now detected from the previous loader

Emu_Kidid told me when it's ready he will post a copy of it here for everyone to download. Check back often :)
Si es verdad eso del soporte para DVD9 estaria excelente. [uzi]
No está nada mal...aunque yo quiero ver esa actualización del wiikey, a ver si de verdad arreglan lo del audiofix y hacen lo del bleach y el trauma center.
Estaría muy bien si, pero antes de nada ... que se confirme que no dejan el tema y que todo son problemas con el proveedor. Una vez confirmado eso, todo será bienvenido :D :D
No es por malmeter, pero antes de usar un doble capa uso 2 de una capa, no está la economía pa' esos sustos xDXD.

Lo del long name me gusta, hay algunos titulos de juegos que al hacer multidisco quedan rarísimos y descuadrados

"Wiikey now shipping with hologram sticker!
For the last 2 weeks all shipments of wiikey have included a hologram sticker to help distinguish clones from originals. It is designed to be put on the wii case, in the same fashion as license stickers are used. A picture will follow soon!"

sabia que esta gente no iba a fallarnos, ademas gracias a lo de los dual layer sabremos si nuestro wiikey es original o clon no?

Wiikey update: ETA 1 week!

We have received positive news from the developers. The long-awaited upgrade to wiikey is basically finished, and is now being tested on different systems to ensure that is is working smoothly. We expect that it will be available to the public around May 15.



We would also like to point out that making the upgrade incompatible with clones have not caused any delays in the process.

Bueeno pues vamos allà, el día 15 veremos si se demuestra lo prometido y nuestro chip (referente a los que lo tnemos puesto) empieza a despuntar :)

¿Y no dicen nada del region free? ¿Seguira sin ir el bleach?
Segun se comento cuando aun iba la antigua web la proxima actualizacion iba a tocar el firmware y conseguia hacer funcionar bleach y trauma cente, naruto no, o eso creo recordar, si alguien puede confirmarlo.
Los juegos que no van con RegionFrii no iran con wiikey ni con ninguno de los chips actuales.
Una razon de peso por la que aun no me atrevo a poner chip a la consola...hasta que no acepte todas las regiones como que paso...
