Okay, this is a quick-and-dirty hack to get Space Invaders Pocket
working off the memory stick with the Wipeout Pure UMD in the drive.
(The only required PRX files are audiocodec.prx and libatrac3plus.prx,
so you can probably modify this to work with any UMD since I think
they ALL have those 2 prx files on them...)
It's an ugly hack becuase I can't get the main menu of SIP to actually
load the games themselves. I can get the Main Menu to load fine, but
it won't load the games (can't figure that one out, if anyone can help,
please do!) Fortunately, each game is compiled as a seperate PSP
executable, so I've basically cheated by skipping the Main Menu all
together and making loaders for each of the 8 games included in this
package:
1 Space Invaders Black & White
2 Space Invaders Cellophane
3 Space Invaders Upright
4 Space Invaders Color
5 Space Invaders Part II
6 Return of the Invaders
7 Majestic Twelve
8 Space Invaders '95
The first 4 are almost the same game, just with different color
patterns on the Invaders, it's the last 4 that get pretty interesting...
You must use all the files I've included here in this RAR package (don't
try to use an existing ISO and just replace a file or two, I had to edit
and move several of the files (not just the BOOT.BIN) to get this to
work). Just extract the RARs directly to your PSP Memory stick, and you
should end up with 8 new game icons (they are named so you can tell what
you are loading up). You can, of course, delete any you don't want (like
I said, many of them are very similar) if you don't want that many icons
in your game folder...
I hope that makes sense... Like I mentioned, it's not a pretty hack, but
it works, and if you are a die-hard Space Invaders nut, then this is for
you!
Hopefully a future WAB loader will make all this obsolete...
