"First I want to say that I don't really have any interest in playing ripped games on the GameCube. If that's what you're really into then that's your business. I really do this stuff out of curiousity and for fun.
In my experience, getting your loader to run at 100mbits will not help you at all.
As far as I can tell, I have managed to get the ACL v1.4 "running" at 100mbits (read to the end before you get too excited):
-Using a PSO uploader that supports .dol reloading I uploaded a .dol that has the hot reset feature.
-I triggered the hot reset.
-Using psul I uploaded a .dol that resets the BBA to 100mbits (posted here already). I set the BBA to 100mbits.
-I started the PC side of the ACL v1.4 program.
-Using the same uploader as in step #1 I then "reload" the ACL v1.4 .dol file. It initializes, connects to the PC, and is ready to stream.
At this point the light on my switch indicates that the BBA is in 100mbit mode. What happens next depends on my PC's NIC settings. If I have the NIC set at 10mbits the game streams exactly as it would if I ran ACL without doing any of this (because it's really still only streaming at 10mbits from the PC). If I set the NIC to 100mbits, I get a couple of dots, an 'X', and then nothing, which is exactly what I would get if I ran ACL with my NIC at 100mbits. The light on my switch still indicates that the BBA is running at 100mbits.
As DesktopMan and others have said, setting the BBA to 100mbits isn't going to help you with the current loaders, probably because of the 27mbit speed of the serial port.
Before you rush out to try this...the uploader mentioned in step #1 is not PSOLoad. I tried the whole process using PSOLoad and it would not successfully reload the ACL .dol.
I will not give the loader to anyone, please don't ask. Just know that the whole idea of setting the BBA to 100mbits isn't going to help you.
Sorry if I posted info that you already know."
