| The evil warlord has captured Princess Koto and now holds her captive.|
| The Princess is the sole survivor of the royal family who hold the |
| power to unseal the mythical Mach Gun. If the Mach Gun is found, the |
| whole world will be enslaved. |
| |
| Playing either as Guren or Gunjo, Princess Kotos personal ninja |
| bodyguards, you will pit your shooting skills against massed ranks of |
| fellow Ninjas, giant mechanical spiders, and vicious end-of-level |
| bosses, to save her from the clutches of Shogun Kigai. |
| |
| As ever with Namco, the difficulty curve is judged to perfection. A |
| fast-paced blast from start to finish, Ninja Assault features nine |
| stages to fight your way through before you can rescue Princess Koto, |
| including the royal castle, a dense forest, a ghost town, an |
| underground cave network, and finally Shogun Kigais heavily-guarded |
| HQ. Several Boss Stages place a premium on timing, skill, perseverance|
| and accuracy of shooting. |

| Health bars above enemy heads indicate how much life is left in their |
| bullet-riddled bodies; you can replenish your own health by finding |
| and snatching first aid crosses, which are hidden within boxes and |
| other objects throughout the stages; and as you progress you might |
| even find bigger, better weapons to use. |
| |
| Unique to the PlayStation 2 version is an additional playable |
| character with her own storyline and differing, non-linear character |
| progression. Three challenging modes of play - Story, Jujitsu and |
| Arcade - give multiple endings to increase gameplay longevity. In |
| addition, there are various mini-games, including one-hit kill |
| assignments and missions in which certain objects must not be hit, |
| which open up to you as you progress through the game in Story mode. |
| You can compete head-to-head with a friend in the mini-games, or |
| team up together in Story Mode and Arcade Mode. |
| |
| As the bullets fly round your head and your enemies attack |
| relentlessly, youll need courage, timing, perseverance and, above |
| all, accuracy if you want to make it to the end and save the Princess.|
