Segun pone en xboxhacker la HOMESTATION de MS, parece estar planeada para este año.
Para los que no saben la HOMESTATION es un conjunto, PC+XBOX+DVD+Internet+un monton de otras cosas...

The rumoured transformation of the Xbox into a home entertainment hub is real, and will launch this year, according to Prudential Securities analyst Hans Mosesmann. Speaking to EBN, Mosesmann claimed that he'd picked up sufficient information at CES to confirm that the device, the HomeStation, will be given the go-ahead.
...and...
If Xbox is a success, and if Microsoft can successfully transition it to HomeStation, then the company will have pulled off a spectacular and highly lucrative stunt. Many home users will be using closed boxes owned and specified by Microsoft for games, music, video, email, internet access etc, and Microsoft will be in a strong position to add "secure PC" features that will allow it to sell music and video, and to roll the .NET strategy out into the home.
Is Microsoft going to, only one year into the life of the Xbox, release a version that does a lot of the stuff that all of us here have wanted since the beginning? Doesn't make sense...but no doubt it would be an excellent way to make us purchase another piece of hardware from them (this time for their profit perhaps).
Wouldn't it be cool if we beat them to it? That should be our goal, a fully hacked Xbox before Homestation launch (if this news indeed proves true).
On another note, wouldn't it be ironic if Sony brought a lawsuit against Microsoft for using a name consumers may confuse with their "Playstation" brand? Sounds like the same complaint someone had about "Lindows".
Edit: Just hit me, could this be why they are adament that there will be no keyboards, mice, or web browsing on the Xbox? It's reserved for another, more pricey box...just a thought

Esto demuestra que la Xbox, sola no servirá para otras cosas que no sean jugar en una consola...el resto que lo haga esa HOMESTATION.
