¿PS3 en la primavera del 2006? Parece que si

Following E3 most of us thought we knew that Spring 2006 would be the launch date for the PS3 but none of us were sure we knew that it was. Now a new image helps us know that what we knew is now true; PS3 will really launch in spring 2006.

The image, available in full size by following the screens tab above, apparently taken from Playstation Meeting 2005 shows a PowerPoint slide that has some key moments on the road to the launch of PS3. According to the slide this spring that just passed saw the launch of the PS3 evaluation system, we are not quite sure what that was but we have already sent our complaints to Sony for not sending us one here at MegaGames.

The slide does seem to confirm that Sony will have to settle for a spring 2006 release date for PS3 even though some were thinking that the Japanese electronics giant may have been trying to push the launch as close to Q1 2006 as possible. If the slide is the real deal then Microsoft will get at least a four month advantage over Sony's next-generation offering, provided XBox 360 does launch around November 4, 2005 as expected.

The authenticity of the slide has come into question however, with some claiming that the there are some things wrong with the image, especially the perspective of the letters and their clarity. If this is a fake image it may be just another attempt to bring the PS3 into the spotlight and may still leave hope intact for Sony fans hoping their manufacturer of choice will time its launch a bit closer to that of x360.

En la diapositiva se puede ver que en la primavera del 2005 se lanzo el sistema de evaluación de ps3, no sabemos que fue pero hemos mandado nuestras replicas a Sony por no habernos mandado ningun sistema de evaluación.

Si la diapositiva es real quiere decir que Microsoft tendra 4 meses de adelanto sobre la consola de Sony.

Tambien se ha cuestionado la diapositiva, algunos claman que hay algunas cosas raras en la imagen, especialmente la perspectiva de las letras y su claridad.

Mira la iluminación del recinto. ¿Que cantidad de lumens tiene ese proyector para con las luces encendidas se proyecte tan nitido el blanco?
Y como dicen, el texto no encuadra bien con el ángulo de camara.

Además, cuando proyectas algo tan blanco sobre una pared/tela, ¿no debería verse la textura de esa pared o tela? y mas cuando la foto es de tan cerca.

Si nos dices la fuente de la noticia, podremos incluso descartar su fiabilidad.
De hecho sin ser experto parace que la diapositiva esta sobrepuesta en la imagen ¿no? ein?

IMHO la fecha de salida de PS3 depende pura y exclusivamente de como le vaya a Xbox360 en USA.

Si x360 vende mucho y supera ampliamente a PS2, pues PS3 saldrá bien pronto luego de la E3.

Si x360 vende normal/poco, PS3 saldrá a finales de 2006 y torturarán a MS poniendo PS2 a $99.

Estoy de acuerdo con tu teoria, exceptuando en que saldria antes del e3 diria que a principio de marzo o podria ser inclusive a finales de febrero.

La PS2 como si la ponen a 9$ no es la guerra de X360.

Loa que yo veo es que como PS3 no sea mucho mas que X360, lanzarla un año despues me parece una perdida de tiempo.
mita y mitad, conozco a muchas personas que por no tener dinero no se compra una ps2, mas barata puede hacerse una nueva base de usuarios que quien sabe si después se compre una ps3 y al mismo tiempo ganarle cliente a MS aunque el que quiere un XBOX360 se va a comprar un XBOX360 por mas bajones que le den al ps2.

PS3 no dará fecha hasta pasada la navidad, pienso que lanzarán antes del E3 o muy cercano a él (semana arriba semana abajo).
Todo dependerá del dreamcastazo que se pegue la X360...Si hace un lanzamiento brutal y ven que les aniquila a la PS2 en los meses siguientes, lanzarán a finales de Julio...sino Navidades o hasta 2007 como bien dice EA.
Esa imagen a ojo parece un fake (por perspectiva, por iluminación, etc..), pero lo cierto es que se vio el primer dia del PS Meeting 2005 en otros medios acreditados que estubieron en la conferencia.

Yo no estaría tan seguro. Se seguían (y siguen) vendiendo psone a pesar de estar en el mercado las demás.

Claro está que el que se quiera comprar la X360 se la comprará, pero como han dicho hay mucha gente que no está interesada en estos temas y si ponen la ps2 muy, muy barata, alguna caerá seguro. No hay que ser muy listo para verlo.

We disagree with management views about hardware pricing, and think that a hardware price cut could spur software sales. We expect Sony to continue to sell the redesigned PlayStation 2 for $149 until supply and demand are in balance, and then to cut the price to as low as $99 in front of the Xbox 360 launch. It is our belief that the redesigned PS2 carries a manufacturing cost of less than $99, and we believe that Sony suffered the ignominy of being unable to satisfy holiday demand in order to increase its gross profits over the short term.

We believe that the company will attempt to disrupt the Xbox 360 launch with a price cut, and as a result may succeed in diverting attention away from the higher priced next generation console. This may disappoint investors, who have come to expect ebbs and flows in software growth rates during past console cycles. If our estimates are correct, the four-year pattern of growth will be 5%, 8%, 10%, and 10%. This is a healthy growth profile, but far below
the 20% plus growth that many investors have come to expect. We note that year-to-date software sales growth in the U.S. is 9.7%, trending well above EA’s and most analysts’ estimates.


Sea como fuere yo dudo que no lancen en 2006...a menos que X360 se la pegue muy fuerte, cosa que es totalmente posible pero poco probable :)
Aclarado. Pienso que esa posibilidad entorno a un lanzamiento para primeros de 2007 va ligado a un hipotético tropiezo de X360 y una insuficiencia de catálogo para un lanzamiento rompedor en 2006.

Al igual que tú, me parece muy poco probable que PS3 no salga en 2006, pero con el historial PSP a sus espaldas, ya no sé qué pensar.

LAs letras parecen no cuadrar pero si vemos la imágen frontal se ve que el motivo es que las letras estan inclinadas hacia adelante XD
