Xbox Silicon Performance Architect The Xbox silicon team has a position open for a silicon / system performance architect. The role is to drive system-wide performance issues, modeling, benchmarking for future Xbox systems. The ideal person should have an in-depth understanding of CPU and graphics chip architectures and computer architecture design.
The main responsibilities include:
1). Performance Modeling: Maintain and further develop a system performance model, adding detail to various components as needed. This may include modeling for CPU and graphics chip blocks, memory systems, IO systems, etc.
2). Performance Investigations: Owns driving performance investigations internally and with external partners.
3). Benchmark Generation: Owns the delivery of benchmarks to the external partners (including CPU and graphics vendors).
4). Verification: Owns verifying the performance of the full system in simulation, emulation and in bring up.
5). Support: Provides help to System software and compiler groups whenever needed. Ideal candidate should have the following skills: - BSc or better in computer sciences related field (EE, CS) - 5+ years industry experience in computer related engineering - Knowledge of CPU architectures, graphics chip architectures, full computer architecture - Good personal skills for interfacing with external vendors, internal teams and trouble-shooting issues - C/C++, Verilog (or equivalent)
