(i would be especially interested in r-type) i have already tried to start it with other emulators, i also tried other games (vigilante and zero team) but the result is the same. Thank you all

The game centering menu in the Setup Utility does not allow you to change the vertical amplitude of your CRT monitor. This adjustment is physically done either by using potentiometers or through the monitor's service menu.
My TV originally displays approximately 240 vertical lines in 60Hz
As for the horizontal position and amplitude, here are the values I use in the Retropy CRT Edition Setup Utility

I tried your advice, but unfortunately nothing changes = (
I understand the resolution speech well, forcing should really help me on this. Too bad, when there was the 270p version the force mode worked perfectly. here it seems that it does not have really effect. do you know what the file that manages this thing?

The file that manages Arcade Encapsulator is arcade.py in
RETROPIE\configs\all\CRT\bin\GeneralModule\launcher_module\arcade.py
The concerned part starts at line 257
But the best would be to expose your problem to Krahs, he will certainly help you with pleasure.

question.. for experts.
when using USB as a device for roms ....
the following folders are created automatically:
BIOS
ROMS
GAMELISTS
in the SD instead there are:
BIOS
ROMS
CONFIGS
SPLASHSCREENS
especially when updating the CRT image, it is recommended to rewrite the SD from scratch ...
and then have the roms / bios all on the usb ...
BUT apart from the configuration of CRT EVO (emulationstation) to be redone ...
all game configurations, starting from those of mame, game x game ... where keys input have been set, and more ... or with which emulator the game x, y and z should start ....
WHERE ARE THEY STORED? certainly not on the USB ....
then rewriting the image CRT evo 2.0> 3.0 .... even keeping the USB ... you lose all the configurations of everything?!?
if yes ... it is not possible to make a backup of them, and copy them once the SD has been recreated with the new version of crt evo?
eg? for example by copying the CONFIGS folder from retropie / sd ... before deleting the SD ... provided that this folder contains all the configurations saved.
who knows more about it?

I Agree
very useful question ...
since updating crt evo , without keeping the configurations of everything done in the games (retroach menu), weeks of work..and more it's a real disaster, even if the roms are on usb.
toto2000 escribió:HOW TO UPDATE WITHOUT LOOSING CONFIGURATIONS (already posted) :
There is a section in the guide I wrote about Retropie CRT, that tells what files you might want to copy from old crt to new one when you update (in particular emulator choice for arcade games, scummvm configs, etc.): https: / /docs.google.com/document/d/1QBthxLGvGyScJ3nyEsdprLAsf8zgJckCFAAxfV0tVBY/edit?usp=sharing
Go to section 11 page 26.
"From your old sd card, backup what is in /opt/retropie/config/all
Once the new version has been burned, restore the previous files (in the same place).
If you changed ES background musics, backup /opt/retropie/config/music and then restore.
Of course, here you have to know how to write to the SD or transfer via the network."

Well, before you can affirm that everything works properly, you should take the trouble to try.
Before, all I had to do was replace the CRT folder to benefit from the updates of Retropie, Retroarch, EmulationStation and others, while keeping my various modifications.
This is no longer the case with EVO 3.0, my scripts no longer work.
I therefore advise against the new version for those who customize their system in depth.
Of course, this concerns users with a little knowledge of Retropie.

Hi.
Replacacing the whole folder CRT is the worst thing you can do, this never will ensure a right operation. Basically you are omitting any new update plus get some malfunctioning. Better don't update...
There is no way to officially preserve configuration from one version to other, so if you are interested on keep some config from previous to new version the best way for now, is following the @toto2000 procedure.
jimiz escribió:@-krahs-
NO @toto2000 procedure not work!
if you overwrite /opt/retropie/config/all with the old one (evo 2.0)
nothing work anymore!!! ...you lose also the "detect input pl1 & 2" where recognize not anymore the chips on jamma pi....
you can try...
meaby you must select only few files to copy ...for conservate all the configurations...but WAHT ?! that's the problem.

so...inside "ALL" are only specific few files to copy?
