NeoGAF escribió:Last July, Electronic Arts announced that Harry Potter Wii would debut alongside the Wii at launch. I got my hopes up to a huge degree but, other than the initial press release, nothing was announced. But now, with rumors circulating about a potential Wii microphone, the rumor has come back full force. Obviously, the URL is blocked, but it's from misspelled Joystick if you care. Here's a quote from their rumor article:
"The real NDA breaking rumor has EA working on a Harry Potter game using the mic in conjunction with gestures to cast spells."
It sounds like it will be exactly what I envisioned last July when that first press release came out:
"Spells would be done just like they are done in the Potter-verse: saying the words with the corresponding wand motion. So Wingardium Leviosa would require a simple flick whereas Sectumsempra would be more of a slash. Oh, I'm giddy just thinking about it. So, in my dream game which I assume EA is working on now, you'd just go to "class" to learn these spells (or skive off and copy Hermione's notes later), but then you'd be able to use them in a practical sense. Opening locked doors with Alohomora; lighting your path with Lumos; even checking out the Marauders Map with "I solemnly swear I am up to no good." And that's only the simple spells. How about using Langlock to shut up a teacher (like Snape!), dealing with the consequences later. Or having to mix up your potion. No more of that simple alchemy found in other games. Just go to the library, look up what you want to make, and actually do it. And flying a broom would be ridiculously fun. Oh man, you could even sneak into the kitchen by tickling the pear paining! This has to happen, right?"
Is anyone else giddy of the prospect of being able to wave a wand and cast spells just like the books? This is the game I have been waiting for to be made for the Wii. The immersiveness of Wii Sports is unprecedented, but I can play tennis in real life. The idea of being able to do something like I imagine this game will be in the comfort of my own home is almost too much for me to bear.
