si que hay una forma de hacerlo funcionar(de hecho ya lo he probado) y estaba intentando hacer un hack del kawax que soportase todos los juegos sin renombrarlos, pero aun no he podido por falta de tiempo.
asi que os posteo aqui la explicacion en ingles que me pasaron sobre como modificar el default. xbe del kawax para que pille cualquier rom de neogeo.
To change sizes of roms with a hexa editor in the default.xbe.
By exemple : to change the size of Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted P1 rom.
For Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted P1 rom, the CRC is FF8EFCFF -> it will always appear back to front in hexa : FF8EFCFF becomes FF FC 8E FF.
Open your default.xbe with a hexa editor & click on "Find" or " Go To" & enter the CRC (enter the CRC back to front like in the exemple) of the rom you want to change the size.
CRC of P1 rom of Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted is at hexa address : 0x0013AA08. On this line, you can see the size of the rom P1, the size of the rom is always before the CRC of the rom in hexa -> 1000FFFC8EFF -> 1 Mb just before CRC back to front of Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted P1 rom.
To change the size of this rom is simple, by exemple to change it in 4 Mb :
Replace the value 1 with a 4, that's all.
When you change a P1 rom size or P2 rom size, don't forget to change the size of "Rom Region P" (Rom Region P size = P1 rom size + P2 rom size), the Rom Region P appears just on the top of the size of P1 rom in hexa ; by exemple (always with Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted) :
5000 (Rom Region P = P1 + P2 roms size)
1000FFFC8EFF.
Also, when you have changed a P1 rom size, don't forget to change the size of P1 rom again just before the size of P2 rom (like in a .Dat files for Winkawaks or Nebula). Exemple in hexa (always with Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted) : 100000004000DDD4DFEF -> Again size of P1 rom just before the size & CRC back to front of P2 rom. (like in a Dat. files of Winkawaks or Nebula -> 254-p2.bin,100000,400000,efdfd4dd,0.
To change the name of a rom, by exemple to replace s1945pn_s1.rom (S1 rom from Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted) with svc_s1.rom, click on "Find" or "Go To" & enter the hexa address 0x000C8B94, then change the name (don't add more letters than the original name).
To change the name of the game Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted by exemple, click on "Find" & write Strikers or click on "Go To" & enter the hexa address 0x000C75D5, then change the name (don't add more letters than the original name).

si alguien lo puede o quiere traducir, seria de gran ayuda para la mayoria de la gente ya que ahora mismo no tengo tiempo de hacerlo.
