Sims do X
We finally unofficially let the word out about the world's favorite fake people.
January 15, 2003 - Electronic Arts' smash hit The Sims has been PC exclusive for quite some time, but it wasn't long before the publisher chose to bring it to Sony's PlayStation 2 console. This has been announced for some time, and it appeared EA had no intentions of releasing it for other home consoles. However, early this year, plans GameCube and Xbox versions of The Sims have been popping up on various lists. The ESRB has already destined a rating for the versions, but also major retailers such as GameStop and Electronics Boutique are taking pre-orders. According to the retailers, it is due for release in late March 2003, along with the PS2 version.
Electronic Arts and Maxis' have been unwilling to confirm what seems like a done deal. A representative for Maxis said yesterday, "We are not confirming anything officially yet."
So, even though Electronic Arts is not making any official statements at the time, you should definitely keep an eye out for The Sims on GameCube and Xbox in addition to its already scheduled PS2 debut this March.
