World exclusive F-Zero AC details
It’s bigger and badder than expected.
We can reveal that F-Zero AC, the looming arcade title co-developed between Nintendo and Sega’s Amusement Vision studio, will be housed in a huge mobile bespoke cabinet, the likes of which have not been seen for a decade.
This incredible news will see Toshihiro Nagoshi’s ambitious plans for the game realised in a colossal sit-down mock up of an F-Zero ship’s cockpit and will totally encase the player, in a similar move to that taken by Sega with the launch of the 1990 classic G-Loc 360 Air Battle.
Our Japanese sources have also revealed that some form of online functionality is being built into the cabinet. An Ethernet high-speed port will feature in a unit to the rear, complete with a USB port, possibly used for multi-cabinet link-play.
Unfortunately, details on the actual game are still hard to come by, though online Arcade versus GameCube play has been heavily rumoured.
We’ll keep you updated on all this, as well as anything else of interest we hear about from Sega.
