Rias escribió:Just like every new taiko game, it's similar to the previous ones, so I'm going to mainly comment on the difference between Taiko portable 1 and 2.
The game has 57 songs, 22 are the downloadable ones from the previous game. Total 62 songs if you count the 5 hidden songs. Every genre have an increaed song list compared to taiko portable 1; the classical section has the biggest increase. They have included Don-ko mode, which basically makes the judgement of the notes to be less harsh. Good for people who are starting in a higher difficulty.
They have taken out that continuous mode from portable 1 and put in story mode instead. I always thought that continuous mode was just kinda stupid, as it's just playing random songs with a time limit you set. Story mode is decent, you get to see the characters interact as Waka Don and Waka Katsu tries to rally people for Hana-chan's piano recitial.
Now one of the best addition they have done for this edition is the upgrade of the tutorial mode. You have the same tutorial song from all the previous taiko games, but this time here's 2 new additions. You can challenge the pre-set patterns that the game has, which is quite useful for anyone who have played the taiko games before. They can learn and pratice the various patterns that is in the songs. The best edition I think, is the 3rd option, recording mode. In that, you can pick any song in any mode (that you have unlocked), and pratice that song. The thing is, you can actually fast foward or rewind the song, so you can pratice parts that you are stumped on. You can even pick the different routes of the song, if the song is a route depandant song. You can also turn on/off autoplay to see how to tackle the song.
Minigames are not bad, as they put in 4 mini games this time. The flying game is pretty standard, you control the up and down movement and try to fly as far as you can...Stacking game is pretty fun, you just try to stack everyone as high as you can, while mataining the balance. Sweets eating game is all about memorization which I'm not good at once they have like 5 dishes out...basically they start with 3 dishes and have sweets or junk, and then they cover it and exchange the places around, then you have to pick out which one to eat and not to eat. Once you get a couple correct, the number of dishes increases. The balloon game is pretty fun, you just press buttons or rotate the nub as Kame tells you to.
This game has alot of good additions to it, made it more friendly for people (whether you are just starting out, expreienced, or an expert at this game), a large song list, and of course, downloadable songs which will soon come. However, I personally don't have alot of songs that I actually like on this (just a matter of personal taste), but I havn't unlocked all the songs yet (one more to go), so maybe it will get better.
