Last month, we were the first to inform about the Xbox 5.1 branded speaker system, which will be officially unveiled at this week’s CES, in Las Vegas. Today we bring you the very first picture of the speaker system.
The Xbox 5.1 surround sound speaker system is a complete multi-channel system featuring Apogee’s DDX digital power amplification and patented OMNIPOLAR™ dispersion technology (spread sound in all directions). The Xbox 5.1 has a mounted amplifier delivering 300W (RMS) of total power; 150W for the front speakers, 50W for the rear ones and 100W for the 8-inch subwoofer.
The surround sound processor has two optical, one coaxial and two analog inputs plus and an USB port for software upgrade, control and 2ch PC audio link.
There’s a software for PC that allows full integration with Windows, media players and multiple source formats including compressed audio (MP3/WMA) and Internet radio.
We'll have more on the Xbox 5.1 later this week, from the CES' show floor plus a hands-on impression.
