Earlier today, leading games developer and publisher Electonic Arts confirmed that the company had purchased rights to develop Formula 1 games from Sony Comeputer Entertainent Europe.
The first game to be developed by EA Sports, F1 2007, is due to be released in November.
We are pleased to announce that we can exclusively reveal more details of the coming game, from a private interview with chief designed Jeff Greenbrook.
"As you already know, F1 2007 will be released for all three major home consoles - the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. But you may not know that there are planned versions for handhelds, too.
"I am sure that this will have many gamers excited around the world."
Following this news, other, more minor points were also revealed by Greenbrook.
"F1 2007 will be EA Sports' most realistic racing sim yet," he states. "It will feature live-action pitstops, manual gear changes and even a flag system.
"Handling has also been taken into account, with tyre wear affecting how well the cars can powerslide."
Formula 1 fans were eagerly awaiting the news of who would develop the future F1 games.
