- I don't think they [MS] understand the business of game consoles at all. They will absolutely fail.
- If Microsoft believes they can bring the strategy they have experience with in PC operating systems ("if we do this, then we'll
eventually corner the market completely"), then they should just quit right now because there's absolutely no chance they'll win.
- The Xbox is in a state of complete defeat in Japan. The chances of a comeback are close to zero. The odds are
against them in North America, too.
- They [MS] may say that they'll "keep going until they win," but that reminds me of the U.S. when it plunged
into the depths of the Vietnam War.
- Microsoft has been almost "too lucky" up to now. No matter if you're a person or a business, your
luck has to run out sometime.
- Video games have always been a form of play, and not something vital for daily life. If the game's too simple then users get
sick of it quickly; if it's too complicated then it'll get a hardcore fanbase but won't spread any farther.
- Software is a very fluid business; you have to be flexible, changing your colors like a chameleon, to survive. There's no room
for monopolistic practices in this industry.
