Los VGX son la remodelación de los conocidos Spike's VGA, una gala organizada por el equipo de Gametrailers. Durante la gala se premia a lo mejor de la industria durante el último año. El show de 3 horas de duración también es escaparate de premieres y nuevos tráilers de futuros juegos. Como novedad introducida, a partir de este año la gala contarán con demostraciones de juegos en directo.
