Van Dyke told us that Battlefield 1943 was a cool way to express a classic game like Battlefield 1942 using the company's Frostbite engine. He said that it opened up a lot of eyes to showing off what an older Battlefield game could be like with the new engine.

When asked to elaborate if other classic Battlefield games would receive a reimagined bite-sized release he said, "I can't. There's no specific plans. The success of [1943] has given it an existence within our lineup, in our thoughts. You could possibly see another type of 1943 in the future. But it doesn't mean it's going to be based on 1942." When pressed, he continued, "Seriously, all options are open. We haven't closed our mind off to anything and we haven't locked down that we'll do anything specific."

Currently Virtua Fighter 5R is only available exclusively to arcades in Japan. Sega had stated that they would only port VF5R to HD systems if fans requested it. Well, Sega, a community of Virtua Fighter aficionados have taken it upon themselves to convince you to do just that.

Here is an email a user named Myke sent to Castel from Tekken Zaibatsu earlier this year as he hoped to spread the word to others about his cause:

I’m emailing you both in the hopes that you could lend a hand in a campaign we’re currently running over at VFDC. It’s the familiar tale of VF fans world-wide (specifically, outside Japan) wanting SEGA to port the latest incarnation of the VF series — Virtua Fighter 5R — to consoles. To date, VF5R is only available in Japanese arcades and SEGA have not even hinted at plans to bring it home.

Recently, we at VFDC were approached by a reputable VFer in Japan, Kamaage, who also happens to run a popular Japanese VF site. His recent interview with MSN News Japan caught SEGA’s attention, mainly due to the deficiencies he highlighted in how SEGA interact with the community. This resulted in an invitation by SEGA to discuss these matters further. Kamaage, recognising this as a valuable opportunity, invited VFDC to rally together to express their desire to have VF5R ported to console.

Kamaage suggested to us that if we could put together a document of around 100 pages with some background on our community, along with player messages expressing their desire for VF5R on console, then it would surely impress the SEGA rep he was meeting. The meeting with SEGA took place on the 28th January 2010, and while the document did impress, Kamaage informed us that it was simply not enough.

However, discussions between the SEGA rep and Kamaage led to the conclusion that if the document was 5 times larger (i.e. approx 500 pages) then it would have far greater impact. If we can put such a document together, then Kamaage has another opportunity to pass it onto the development team as well as the President of SEGA.

This is where you can help: If you could rally your respective communities to aid our cause, then I’d be ever so grateful. I’m not deluded into thinking that a 500 page fan-produced document is going to dictate how SEGA will spend their money, but I care enough to get a message across. And that message is that Fighting Game fans outside of Japan, from the casual to the hardcore, are tired of being treated as second rate citizens, and sometimes worse.

I thank you both for your time, and hope that we at VFDC may lean on the greater Fighting Game community during this time of need. If you need any more information regarding our plight, please don’t hesitate to ask.

As of the February 24th Myke closed the petition to finalised the official 500 page document for Kamaage. March 19th: Kamaage updated everyone with news that Sega is ”discussing about this ( porting VF5R ) at very higher end”

Even though I’m no VF fan myself, I honestly hope Sega appreciates all the hard work these fans of Virtua Fighter have done to get a chance to play one of their favorite fighters and reward their effort.

PAX East 10 is taking place in Boston this weekend, and Electronic Arts and Visceral Games were in attendance with a particularly newsworthy panel for Dead Space 2 earlier today — where they revealed there may eventually be a port of the Wii spin-off Dead Space: Extraction for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

During the questions and answers segment of the panel, someone asked whether Extraction would ever be released on other platforms. According to IGN, the panel didn’t answer the question directly, but did say to “keep your ears peeled” — clearly suggesting it is a possibility.

Of course, since it was a Dead Space 2 panel, there were a few new details revealed about that game, too: A brief video was shown that revealed how main character Issac Clarke’s new suit allows for what sounds like very Iron Man-like flight, using thrusters in the boots and gloves (the video apparently showed Clarke flying from one train car to another that was separated by a large distance on the track).

la de gente que tiene la wii comparada con las otras...
creo que ambas son buenas consolas cada una en su ``territorio´´ y a la wiii la da muxiiisimo juego el homebrew por usb

Ninja Theory(Heavenly Sword) working on top secret game

Ninja Theory, the UK-based developer most commonly know for their work with PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, is working on another 'top secret project', according to the studio co-founder Tameem Antoniades.

"We've just started pre-production on a new secret project," said Antoniades in a recent interview. "It's a full scale, it's a pretty big project. It's still top secret, but it's gonna be awesome, obviously."

Ninja Theory is working on the project concurrently with Enslaved, a Namco Bandai-published post-apocalyptic third person action game. Antoniades also confirmed that the game is not a portable or download.

Though Heavenly Sword may have not lived up to the gargantuan amount of hype that was built around it, it was still a really good game, so I'm eagerly anticipating both Enslaved and whatever their new project is!

Eat, Sleep, Play boss David Jaffe has confirmed the new project from the studio “will absolutely” have DLC.
“We absolutely will be doing DLC with our new game,” said Jaffe on the latest Bonus Round, when explaining his opinion on if DLC for games can either expand the story or experience.

“But our new game, while it does have a story, that’s just not really sort of where its heart and soul is,” he further added.

So far, the new project from Jaffe hasn’t been formally revealed yet, but it is thought to be a reboot of the Twisted Metal series for PS3.

Parece ser que eso es real por problemas de seguridad.

El nuevo firmware no permitirá la instalación de sistemas operativos externos.

Speaking in an interview with CVG, VP of Core Games, Danny Bilson confirmed that the next Faction will be released this year and said that "it's different from the last one but similar."

“I just heard that we might be seeing an Action RPG title coming out for Japan PSN very soon,” the publisher wrote in a recent tweet.

Famitsu anuncia "KRIEG", el Primer proyecto de Tango Studios (Shinji Mikami) exclusivo de PS3

Podria ser un Fake adelantado del April Fools asi que... ya sabeis, ha esperar a que se confirme.

A surprising scan from this week’s Famitsu seems to have leaked early. In it, Shinji Mikami’s new studio Tango announces their first game – a PlayStation 3 title named KRIEG with the same free-roaming aspect of Fallout, including that similar mix of role-playing game elements.

This seems to be the project Shinji Mikami was counting down to on his studios’ official site.

According to Mikami, he chose the name KRIEG because it means “war, conflict, and confrontation.” The game is set on a land devastated by nature. The protagonist is a boy subjected to strange military experiments, however, he cannot recall where he was tested on and is searching for clues to find out. The game’s back-story will be shown in the form of comics and anime.

Originally, Mikami expected to make this title for Wii, but confessed he had to choose PlayStation 3.

“This game will be my personal challenge,” Mikami closed the Famitsu reveal, “new information will arrive during the next E3.”
