This one could rather expect (especially after the departure of Itagakiego), although the confirmation came to us a lot of waiting. The new head of Team Ninja Yosuke Hayashi fact confirmed in an interview with Famitsu that Code Cronus and Project Progressive are erased.

Tomonobu Itagaki his time Code Cronus species identified as "Kodomo" which in Japanese means "child", but in no case was to be a title aimed at younger players. Project Progressive however, was assumed in an entirely new kind of action games. Hayashi words that work on both projects as a matter of fact never fully started.

Hayashi in that conversation also touched on the Ninja Gaiden 3, but go without specifics. Ordered to pay attention to the artwork available along with an official announcement on the Hayabusa has a bloody right hand. "There is something unnatural in the blood," indicates Hayashi.

The general direction in which the aim NG3 says that he wants to create an action game to match today. This means that the past can not limit production. "Of course we appreciate the past, but in a good sense of the term it does not want to be embarrassed." Regarding the progress of developingu - NG3 presented within the company and the game provoked positive reactions. But fans will have to wait a while for new information.

"New" Team Ninja and its most important members

Other games Team Ninja is Dead or Alive Dimensions and Ni-Oh Koei announced by Sony at a conference in 2005. Hayashi said that the first come DOA, then most likely NG3 and only at the end of the Ni-oh. A long way Ni-oh so it seems, therefore, lengthen even more.

Scratch Project Progressive and Dead or Alive Code Cronus off your most wanted list, if they're for some reason still there. Both long awaited Team Ninja projects have been officially cancelled.
Team Ninja head Yousuke Hayashi confirmed that the two games are no longer in development in an interview posted at Famitsu.com today.
Regarding Project Progressive, Hayashi said development had progressed all the way through what he referred to as a "plot version." However, five years back, the team stopped development and have no plans to continue.
As for Dead or Alive Code Cronus, development on this game never actually started. "It was just at the framework level," said Hayashi. It is "officially cancelled," he said.
In an old Famitsu interview from 2005 (see IGN for a summary), then Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki gave only a few hints about the two games. For Cronus, he said the game's genre was "Kodomo," which is Japanese for "child," although he assured that the game is not in any way meant for kids. For Project Progressive, he said the game would be an action game, but completely different from the type of action in Ninja Gaiden and a new challenge for Tecmo. Both games were originally planned for Xbox but switched to Xbox 360.
Famitsu's interview with Hayashi covered all areas of Team Ninja's current and upcoming work, most notably Ninja Gaiden 3. For what Hayashi had to say about this mystery project, see this summary.

¿Hitman 5? Ahora sí que sí (continuará...)

After a very, very long time of rumours, speculation, faked trailers and subtle hints, SystemLink can exclusively reveal that not only is Hitman 5 definitely being made by IO Interactive, it's also down for a 2011 release date.

Here are two screenshots of LinkedIn profiles, the first proving Hitman 5 is in production, and the second giving a release date. We have blurred the names for privacy reasons.

If you’re a trophy whore like me you probably can’t wait for The Sly Collection; each game in the trilogy will come with its own list of trophies to obtain. That means there’s three Platinums up for grabs, and a bunch of minigame trophies on top of that.

The description for the Platinum on Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves drops an exciting little tease, too. Upon getting every other trophy in the game, you’ll earn the Platinum named “A Real Honor”, the description for which says “Unlock every trophy in the last adventure of Sly Cooper…The last?”

That sounds like a pretty heavy hint at Sly Cooper 4 to us. Of course the original series developer, Sucker Punch, stuck an easter egg that hinted at the game with their PS3 debut, inFamous, and the thieving racoon is showing up in PlayStation Move Heroes next year, so Sony certainly aren’t done with him.

Looks like we could well be seeing more Sly soon.

Anunciados Naughty Bear 2 y Wet 2

The developer formally known as A2M, Behaviour Interactive, has announced Naughty Bear 2 and WET 2.

“Wet 2 (multi-platform), Naughty Bear 2 (multi-platform), Doritos Crash Course (XBLA) as well as Rango (multi-platform), which was announced by EA and Paramount Digital Entertainment on 4th November 4th, are all currently in development at Behaviour,”said SVP of business development at the studio, Jamie Leece.

“We have just completed Sims 3 (Wii), and are also working on several unannounced games for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and DS, Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, next generation handhelds, a Facebook game to be launched in November and a Casual MMO to be launched early next year.”

No publisher has been found for either.

The original WET was published by Bethesda and released in September 2009 for PS3 and 360, while Naughty Bear, published by 505 Games, launched in June this year for PS3 and 360.

Fuente: VG247

An upcoming novel will follow a tabloid reporter in L.A. during the first moments of the North Korean attack on the US. It's the first salvo in THQ's "transmedia" strategy for Homefront, which is about "building worlds first," then having "different media access that world in interesting ways," Danny Bilson said during his keynote speech at IGDA Leadership Forum 2010. THQ is hoping also to do a miniseries for the game following the contents of the book -- it'd be on SyFy, we imagine -- but even more interesting are Bilson's comments regarding the next game.

"The sequel has new features and doesn't even deal with the same characters," Bilson revealed. "It takes place on the other side of the Mississippi -- nobody knows what's going on over there because the North Koreans have irradiated the Mississippi with radioactive iodine and nobody can cross it without a hazmat suit. It's very interesting stuff."

Bilson says the book will be available for purchase a month before the game launches. HomeFront is currently slated for March 2011.

You've heard rumors of us working with a big film director who is actually a big gamer," THQ core games EVP Danny Bilson said during his keynote at the IGDA Leadership Forum. Uh, dude, heads-up: those aren't rumors any more. As it turns out, we'll finally get an official announcement about Guillermo del Toro's THQ project during the Spike VGAs next month.

"He's a gamer who wants to make a great game," said Bilson about director Guillermo del Toro, "and has very interesting points of view and is partnered very closely with myself and my writing partner, Paul." Bilson revealed that THQ "will be announcing the game title and the studio and all of that on the VGA awards in about a month."

If you're late to the party, catch up on some of our previous coverage here. Del Toro's game will have Lovecraftian themes to it ---- which is great, because we've always felt there should be more awesome games about Cthulhu.

Primeros detalles de Darksiders 2: ¡nuevo prota!

uring his keynote speech at the IGDA Leadership Forum, THQ wunderkind Danny Bilson revealed some info on Darksiders 2, the sequel to Joe Mad's inspired take on a post-apocalyptic Earth. Instead of taking up the mantle of War again, the sequel will offer a new playable character -- one of the other three horsemen of the apocalypse, perhaps?

"When we do the Darksiders sequel, it'll be a different character and take place simultaneously to the other story," Bilson said. "There's only one apocalypse -- I couldn't very well have four different apocalypses, one for each rider. It has some new mechanics and some very robust features that differentiate it a lot and grow it from the first game because you have to build on the first one, you can't repeat it. I think that's very important in franchise-building."

It tied into the rest of the keynote, which revolved around Bilson and THQ's take on sequels and how to approach them when trying to create franchises. Look for our full write-up of Bilson's candid keynote speech soon.

EA registra SSX: Deadly Descent

Bricks have been dropped. Electronic Arts has recently registered five new domain names related to their popular snowboarding franchise, SSX, which seem to point the potential forthcoming announcement of a new game in the series titled SSX: Deadly Descent.

The domain registrations are listed below, as spotted by Superannuation:

* DeadlyDescent.com
* DeadlyDescents.com
* SSXDeadlyDescent.com
* SSXDeadlyDescents.com
* SSXFirstDescent.com

You’ll notice there’s one in there for SSX: First Descent, as well. We’re assuming Deadly Descent is the title of this potential new game because more domains have been registered for it. Either that, or First Descent is the title of the PSP/DS version of the game.

We’ll keep you updated. If anything, this could end up being one of the Video Game Awards’ big reveals next month.

While it has been rumored for a while that Sony’s Cambridge Studios are working on a PlayStation 3 game, what that title actually is remains unknown, with some people speculating that the developer is working on a new Move game for the casual market. Now, a job listing has emerged that has revealed that Cambridge Studios are working on “a new game in a high profile, multi-million selling franchise”.

The game is most certainly on the PS3 rather than the PSP, with the job requiring applicants to be “experienced in PS3 programming”. But what game could the BAFTA award winning studio be developing? Many would say that the most likely game is a new addition to the MediEvil series, which the developer is most well known for – something that was rumored by PSM3 magazine a couple months back.

Imagen

However, while Medievil was a classic title that garnered a cult following, it wasn’t a huge success, so calling it a “high profile, multi-million selling franchise” could be a bit of a stretch. Another game the studio is possible working on is The Getaway, initially developed by Sony’s London Studios, the third game in the high selling series was put on hold mid-way through development on the PS3 – could Cambridge Studios have picked up where they left off?

Other large franchises that have yet to hit the PS3 include Syphon Filter, but that game is heavily rumored to be in development by Sony Bend, or Destruction Derby, a UK franchise which had 3 platinum selling games and so could be considered a “multi-million selling franchise”.

What game do you think Cambridge Studios could be working on? Let us know in the comments below.

Deadstorm Pirates llegará a PSN

Namco Bandai Games Europe have announced that they are to release meachine gun-wielding arcade title Deadstorm Pirates on the PlayStation Store this month, providing PlayStation 3 owners with the opportunity to set sail on the hunt for buried treasure with the PlayStation Move and G-con 3 gun controller compatible game.

Within the game, players step into the role of a duo of valiant swashbucklers as they tackle a horde of foul creatures in their hunt for Poseidon's Treasure. Following a similar play-style to that of the Time Crisis series, players are able to engage in solo or co-op play.

Further to this, to those that don't already know, Deadstorm Pirates is also available as an extra title on the Blu-ray disc release of Time Crisis: Razing Storm, currently available from European retailers.

Deadstorm Pirates is due to release in November, priced at £15.99/ 19.99 Euro.

Call of Duty: Black Ops isn’t even cold on the shelves in the US and UK yet and there’s already talk about Sledgehammer’s setting for the next iteration in the series, and it’s being suggested it may contain space marines.

Last week during a financial call to investors, Activision’s publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg mentioned a new Call of Duty title hitting around the back-half of 2011. Without naming Sledgehammer as the developer of the project, nor indicating what the game will entail, he did promise the game would not deviate from the first-person shooter genre.

Despite the lack of information on the title, some industry sources are telling Gamasutra the game will be set in the future and star Marines in space.

Activision’s COO Thomas Tippl has said in the past the title “will broaden the audience”, and has been called “quite unique” by Sledgehammer boss Glen Schofield. The developers even held two different recruitment rounds to beef up staff for the title, and COD is not the only game the developer is working on for Activision either, as a press release from March stated there was an action-adventure title in the works as well.

To further emphasize the importance of the Call of Duty franchise to Activision, Tippl stated during the call to investors last week the franchise has “more development resources dedicated” to it than ever before as Activision is of the belief there’s a “tremendous amount of appetite for Call of Duty content as well as services” and growth opportunity for the franchise has “never been stronger than what it is today”.

Whether the next iteration in the COD series contains Space Marines or not, is anyone’s guess at this point. Likely, we’ll hear more information on the title starting early next year since it’s expected by Holiday 2011.

Until then, folks should just enjoy running around and shooting communists in Black Ops for the time being.

Grid 2 llegará en 2012

Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens has confirmed Operation Flashpoint: Red River and DiRT 3 will both arrive at somepoint between the beginning of April and the end of June next year.

GRID 2 will drop by 2012 in a strategy which will see GRID and DiRT alternate for each year.

“I don’t think it does any good to publish in a congested period when everyone’s putting out their shooters,” he told EG.

“A number of leading companies have their fiscal year ends around that time, and so they’ll be firing heavyweights in terms of their product releases to give as much boost to their fiscal year end as they possibly can.

“That’s not a window I want to go out in. It will be between 1st April and the end of June.”

Cousens added on GRID 2’s timeline: “We’re not difficult to predict. If DiRT comes out next year, GRID will come out the following year, and then DiRT will be out the year after that. So you can map us out.”

“Sitting alongside that will be F1 every year. Flashpoint we’ll do every other year. The idea is to come up with a new IP that sits in opposite years to each other, but we’re in the racing segment and the action segment.”

On that new IP, Cousens all but confirmed it would be out in 2012 to support GRID 2.

¿2 Call of Duty el mismo año?

Super Meat Boy no llegará "nunca" a PS3

Team Meat, developer of Super Meat Boy, has confirmed via Twitter that Super Meat Boy will never be available on the PlayStation 3:

“Dear Internets: For the trillionth time NO SMB ON PSN. It cant happen Your enthusiasm is much appreciated but we cant change this.”

Also, the official Team Meat bio on Twitter now says “XBLA, Steam, and WiiWare. PS3 can never happen. Sorry.”. So, sorry PlayStation 3 gamers – NO SUPER MEAT BOY FOR YOU!

The team explained the situation in a recent blog post:

“We Cant EVER do a ps3 version of super meat boy because when we were going into negotiations with publishers Sony was the only one who didn’t express much interest in the game. We assumed this ment that they didn’t want the game and decided to sign with Nintendo and Microsoft. Our contracts excluded any release on Ps3.

We would have loved to do a ps3 version, but its not at all possible what so ever now. so please stop asking about it.”

Tim Shafer: "Estoy listo para hacer Psychonaut 2"

Tim Schafer, founder of Double Fine and creator of Monkey Island, Full Throttle and Brutal Legend, has said he's "ready" to do a sequel to Psychonauts.

In an interview in the latest issue of PSM3, Schafer was asked about the possibility of a sequel to Psychonauts for PSN.

He replied by saying he was ready and willing, but that it was a question of finding a publisher that was interested.

"I'm ready to do it. I'd love to do it. It's really a question of getting a publisher who's interested in doing it."

Although the game had a passionate cult following around its release, the popularity of Psychonauts rose recently thanks to word of mouth, Steam sales and even piracy.

"Over the years it's gotten into the hands of a lot of people, through being two dollars on Steam for a while, and being pirated.

"So it's gotten out there. So if all these people were going to buy the sequel it would be a big hit," added Schafer.

Fellow Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert joined Schafer's studio last month, and revealed they are working on a brand new project.

Fuente: CVG

Os imaginais un ¿Call of Honor?, o un ¿Medal of Duty? XD XD.

Devolver Digital has shared some small bits of news on Serious Sam 3 today, teasing an “almost ready” revelation and confirming a console/PC release.

First off, via Twitter, the company’s confirmed that the marketing plan has been “locked in” for the upcoming threequel and that they’re “almost ready to start the commotion!” The company teased screenshots when that commotion starts, saying “I know y’all are hungry for real Serious Sam 3 screens.”

The company also confirmed that the game is coming to consoles as well as PC. I took the liberty of asking them the question, which they then confirmed. Although, they haven’t responded to my question on exactly which consoles, yet.

The most recent entries, Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter and Serious Sam 2 HD: The Second Encounter, saw release on both PC and Xbox LIVE Arcade.

Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming THQ game will be a trilogy of sci-fi role-playing games, if a source of MMOMFG is to be believed.

Set to be revealed at the Video Game Awards next month, as confirmed by THQ exec Danny Bilson, the source claims that the plan is for a trilogy “along the lines of Mass Effect.” The game is apparently focused on inter-dimensional travel, where the player is tasked with investigation open portals that must be closed. The source also mentioned the presence of Lovecraftian themes.

Back in August, a job listing from Volition looking for a design director to work on an action RPG in “collaboration with a high-powered creative talent in the entertainment industry to develop [an] original, unannounced franchise” was posted. If del Toro is that person, then that at least confirms the RPG bit.

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars ya tiene fecha de salida

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will be released in the UK on 18th February, Activision has announced.

This time it's the Clone Wars television series getting the blocky treatment. And there are new gameplay features on offer, too.

You can fight your friends in head-to-head battle, for instance, and play as either Jedi or Separatist forces.

You can control battalions of Clone troopers, throwing them head-first into the droid rank and file in "RTS action LEGO style".

There's even the chance to take to the skies in block-built spaceships and explore 16 star systems. What's more, we're promised "mega" boss battles.

All that and the level editor has been improved.

Oh, there are new Force powers, too.
